Therefore the Apple Watch Series 7 is running watchOS 10. Of course because the Apple Watch Ultra has the biggest battery made to last the advertised 2.5 days, charging it up is very long than a 41mm Apple Watch would.

I charge my Apple Watch Series 6 on watchOS 11 when I hit the shower after working out, to prepare it for sleep tracking if the battery is under 75% by the end of the day and in the morning while I eat breakfast and put it on once it is fully charged. My Apple Watch takes up to about an hour for full charge from zero. How about yours? Is your Apple Watch Ultra running watchOS 11?
The Ultra is running WatchOS 11. It takes about 45 minutes to charge from about 40% to 100% in the mornings while I get ready for work.

🤯 my series 6 takes 30 minutes for that though. If it was in the 60s-70s after I sleep track it takes 20 minutes for a full charge.

Yeah I was really surprised when I first got the Ultra and put it on a normal charger, and it took forever. I got the 20w brick just so it would be decent charge.

I have the Apple 20W USB c charger as well but I don’t have a USB C Apple Watch charging cable as the Apple Watch Series 6 was the last series to have USB A charger cable, but I usually use a power strip with built in USB ports to plug in at home. When traveling or at work i bring along the old Apple Watch charging cable and 5W brick 🧱 from my old Apple Watch Series 1, but I use my laptop to charge it at work.

Yeah, the non ultras charge so much faster. That may not the best the case with the 10s because they will be bigger, but maybe so. That’s the great thing about them.

Let’s just hope the RC on Monday if the beta corrects battery life.

Still make sure to throw in a spare Apple Watch charging cable in the bag you carry your iPhone chargers with you. You might never know that battery life is unpredictable in watchOS beta.

There are even MagSafe power packs that contain a built in spot to charge your Apple Watch on top of it as well as your iPhone.

There’s definitely something fudged up with the battery on watchOS 11. Some days are stellar and some days are crap.

Topped up my AWU1 yesterday morning at 97% after waking up, spent the day with it, had a 90 min workout with it in the evening. Went to bed at 56% and woke up 7 hours later at 49%. So, pretty solid.

This morning, similar routine, I top it to 100% just after waking up, start my day and suddenly after not even one hour I already lost 5%, which is very unusual. Had to reboot to stop the drain. I’m starting to wonder if there is something bugged in the sleep tracking and/or syncing.

Yes, I am wondering if it’s sleep tracking or the new vitals app. But then the instant drain after taking it off the charger is rather weird. There is something running in the OS that is not suppose to be constantly. This is why I thought it was head scratching that Apple didn’t release a beta 8 for watchOS 11. This clearly isn’t ready for full release. Yes I am sure it will get better once the beta logging is taken off, but I still think there is some kind of issue.

These health tracking apps have to be one of the culprits of watchOS 11 beta testing. This explains why my Apple Watch battery drained more frequently while sleep tracking in certain betas.

Certain system processes running can impact the battery life of Apple Watch users, and it is temporary. If y’all cannot stand it, yes I agree with @CrispAppleNerd on bring an extra Apple Watch charger and even trying out MagSafe accessories that also have Apple Watch chargers on them, like power packs and cables.

Hopefully after Mondays RC release we will be close to back to normal.

I took the advice of restarting the watch, and battery drain is way better after that.

Ultra 1. Best charge cycle I’ve had in a while! Currently on 18.0 current beta. Since last charge I’ve kept the watch on for 2 nights of sleep tracking and a 90 minute workout. FI… it’s 11:30 Sunday morning right now.

Since Friday afternoon till now is the normal time an Apple Watch battery cycle has went through. A few folks here wearing Apple Watch Ultra said that in these betas some of their watches had to be charged daily due to huge amounts of draining like the beta logging stuff.

May I ask on watchOS 11 it was mentioned that the series 10 was able to play music through it's redesigned speaker, perfect for when you forget your airpods....

Is this functionality coming to the Ultra 2?

I am able to play music and podcasts on the watch speakers with my Ultra 2 on watchOS 11 RC.

The other watch in my family is an SE2. That one does NOT play music on the watch speakers with wOS 11 RC.

View attachment 2414619 The new faces, on AWU1. No new faces exclusive to the Ultra models, as far as I can see (like Modular Ultra that we got with watchOS 10).
Y’all does all users get these faces, or are they restricted to Apple Watch Series 7 or newer models? Photos has been there since beta but someone with an Apple Watch SE 2 or series 6 that updated to the RC please check it out.
