My Apple Watch isn’t getting through the day on singe charge now. I unpaired it and restored from backup, and it’s somehow got worse. Put it on at roughly 8am this morning, it’s now 5:30pm and I’ve just took it off to charge it because it’s 19%
I noticed just this morning actually on the latest beta, my AW Ultra (1)'s battery was pretty bad. I put it on last night at 100% battery, woke up around 9 hours later, it was at 40% - normally around 90% when I wake up. First time this has happened on the current beta. Last time this happened, probably on beta 1 or 2, the battery was significantly pretty bad until I rebooted it. I have it on the charger now after a reboot.

For me on my Ultra 2, but it lasts a evening + sleep tracking + a full working day and it needs a new charge!
Same here - put it on charger when putting the kids to bed and take it back on fully charged before bed time - morning run + days work and when we are close to evening time it's back down at 10-20% depending on the day

Battery life is definitely worse with this beta. My Ultra 1 has never been great in this beta cycle of watchOS 11, but it sure hasn’t gotten better over the life of the beta cycle. It sure seems we are gonna have to wait for the RC next week after the keynote, and that’s worrisome to me. Seems like a lot isn’t polished before we get there, and battery being the biggest one.

I will say, my ultra does better when I don’t have any live activities in a day. But any of that and I am screwed with battery life. They are gonna have to improve that for that to be a good feature.

That’s even less than the advertised time of 36 hours of battery life… it is only even a day of battery. If you workout with your Apple Watch Ultra, that battery life would be less as well.

I sleep track with my Apple Watch Series 6 daily and this beta 7 release the battery went down not a lot, but even though I charge it to prepare it for sleep tracking while I check my emails and work stuff one last time of the day, and put on my Apple Watch once battery is full, I go to bed and wake up. I charge it up for a bit to replenish the battery while I eat breakfast if I am not doing a workout in the morning as the battery drop varies. My Apple Watch loses 15-20% of battery during sleep tracking.

Yeah around an hour of run a day and yes under the 36 hours - would say if I go to a complete zero battery state it would maybe make it

Low power mode is the thing you need to turn on if going on long runs during the betas… and if you’re traveling i carry a power bank for both my iPhone and Apple Watch. But since this beta I had to charge my S6 on long days of work and bring my charger along… as it may not make it through the entire day.

So went back through the thread, and for those looking for a step counter complication, I found one that works with watchOS 11. The Stepsapp works great! Maybe the other big ones will come along with the RC is released.

They really need to get an update out for that, i'm almost ready to ditch it completely.
To ditch Pedometer++? I think Apple just this week sent out the call for app developers to update app for iOS 18 and watchOS 11. I think we should see the fix in the RC on Monday.

Yeah, to be fair their phone app looks very dated and i use other compications more on my watch now.
Oh yeah it's dated for sure. Seems to be minimal on battery life for the watch, but just from the first couple of days with Stepsapp, it seems to be more of hog.

Do you use another step counter, or just other complication in general?

For those commenting on battery life, I've also noticed that if you go check settings-->battery that it does not update to show proper battery drain since last charge or the last time it was properly charged to 100%. This is on the latest beta on aw7.

True. I was out very long on Sunday and this seems inconsistent. Charged to nearly full capacity, went from 12pm to 7pm and my Apple Watch died at 6pm.

Compared to the last two days Tuesday and Wednesday my Apple Watch lasted from a full charge from 8-9am after recharging it while I ate breakfast until about 4-5pm at 30%, from errands/morning work and a 45 minutes to 1 hour Apple Fitness+ workout. This beta battery life is stable on some days, some days are not.

Yep, it's so inconsistent. One say it seems on par to what we are use to, and other days it seems it is terrible.

It is a major issue, more persistent with people with regular Apple Watch Series 6 to 9 and even cuts battery life short including for Apple Watch Ultra users who rarely carry a charger for their Apple Watch while on the go. Some nights when I sleep track I wake up to see my Apple Watch drop to 60%, mostly stops at 80% oftentimes.

The last two weeks I turned on low power mode on my Apple Watch Series 6 more often than ever… because it drops to 30% and under faster than normal. The GM should fix this problem

I sure hope the GM is much better. We should lose all the logging stuff Apple has on the beta software, and that should help. I would just like constant battery life again. I know it will probably drop off just a bit being a new OS, but not like this.

Agreeable. How often do you charge your Apple Watch Series 7? Do you fast charge it?

On my Ultra, I could end the day with 55% left (that is a whole 24 hour run), but now I can be anywhere from 45%-25% in 24 hours.

I do fast charge my Ultra, but I don't think I could charge it without fast charging. It so slow on the Ultra.

Therefore the Apple Watch Series 7 is running watchOS 10. Of course because the Apple Watch Ultra has the biggest battery made to last the advertised 2.5 days, charging it up is very long than a 41mm Apple Watch would.

I charge my Apple Watch Series 6 on watchOS 11 when I hit the shower after working out, to prepare it for sleep tracking if the battery is under 75% by the end of the day and in the morning while I eat breakfast and put it on once it is fully charged. My Apple Watch takes up to about an hour for full charge from zero. How about yours? Is your Apple Watch Ultra running watchOS 11?
