Battery Health dropped from 100% to 91%....wow!
I updated my watchOS to 11.2 beta 1 on my S6. Unfortunately, my battery health dropped from 100% to 96%. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, which beta did you update to?

Anyone know the battery health point where Apple will replace the battery or more likely the entire watch?

Not sure if it’s the bug, but my health is reading 87%. AWU1, just hit the two year mark.

Yeah, I’m not sure if it’s really at 87% or it’s this bug. I honestly never looked before this bug arose, so no clue where it was at.

I’ll probably have this watch for another year and then grab the latest and greatest, so dropping below 80% probably isn’t going to happen before then.

Is anyone having issues with mail? I have a work exchange account and it will only show new mail from today, and if I delete that it just says no mail on the watch. This has been an issue since watch is 11. I’ve reset the watch, deleted the account from my phone and nothing.

I'm sure it's just the glitch in the latest round of Beta's. My U1 went from 100% to 87% with these round of Beta's. It's no big deal, I'm sure it'll go back to normal in a later revision.

Edit: And when I just checked, my watch has "improved" to 89%, so it's definately just a wonky beta glitch.

Hey there I linked that post earlier when we first talked about it!

Was the battery health like that before on your Apple Watch Ultra prior to 11.2? Here is the thing about battery replacements: if you have AppleCare+ you are entitled to free battery replacement if the battery health drops below 80%~ which is 79% and anything less than that. In all other cases, it would be for a fee depending on the series of the Apple Watch. ⌚️ older Apple Watch models are $79 while newer ones are $99 including all generations of Apple Watch Ultra.

I confirm, my battery health is at 78% and I see the message.
Anyone else has this as well? If you were 80-ish% before the 11.2 update and needed a battery replacement you are in luck. 🍀 You can ask the Apple genius to get it checked out and they can replace it at the Apple Store.

Anyone running the beta will more than likely not get a battery replacement, they will either say their tools don't work with the beta or want to restore the firmware first. You will need to wait till the public release of 11.2, and if it still is below 80% then you will be able to get a replacement.

The latest beta didn't fix the Maximum Battery Capacity situation, so I'm hoping that Apple didn't have time to gather all the feedback and fix it for this release. Because if that's not the case, it could be that 11.2 has done something really bad to the battery and the number being reported is accurate.

Ah, thanks for the input as a fellow UW1 owner. Good to know you were at 100% and I assume we both got it around launch time. Even without this beta glitch, I would have never thought the health would have been at 100% after two years and literally everyday overnight charging for me. I don't wear it to bed and I don't really let it go low before charging which we all know makes for a healthy battery in terms of minimizing charging cycles.

Yeah, honestly, I have never checked the health on the watch before this recent bug duly discovered by you all. I didn't even know it was there under setting on the watch. If it were in the phone app I would have stumbled across it, but I just don't poke around on the actual watch much.

Thanks for the dealeo on battery replacement and coverage. I am a stickler for recovering my investment in AC+, make me feel better about spending the money. I use it most on my Air Pod Pro's. I am an audiophile and as soon as the sound quality degrades, I am getting a new set from Apple under warranty. The phone's AC+ is mostly used for damage swaps. I've dropped my phone in many oceans and pools and let me tell you, water resistant is not water proof, lol!.

I am hoping the AWU3 is something to write home about to give me a reason to get a new one. AWU2 certainly was not compared to the AWU1.

I did get a replacement for my SE due to excessive scratches, but I have to give it to Apple on the Ultra, this sucker is friggin bullet proof. Not one scratch on the thing and I bang it around pretty good.

Apple has a policy that you must update your Apple Watch to the latest public release before they will provide any support or help. For the iPhone, whether it can pass diagnostics is on a case-by-case basis. The technician or Apple Genius helping you will determine whether the iPhone can pass diagnostics. They will also use software to test the watch and rule out all possible issues.

I'm glad to hear that you were able to get replacement AirPods and watches easily using Express Replacement. The AW Ultra is very resilient to outdoor extremes and has the long 2-day battery life. I always recommend it to prospective users who mention that they have large stocky wrists, tend to charge their watches every 1-2 days, and tend to go on triathlons, diving, fishing, camping, or hiking a lot.

Yup, you profiled me to a T! I also love big watches. The only downside to loving the Ultra as much as I do is that my watch collection collects dust these days.

How about all those bands? A few Apple Watch Ultra users even collect trail loops and the ocean bands like crazy 🤪

Yeah, I am a phone case and watch band whore. I change my watch band up weekly. I think I am up to 50 bands to choose from!
I change my Apple Watch bands daily as well; I have the same amount as you. Two boxes filled with bands and one box dedicated to the nice ones. A tray of sport loops as well.

iPhone case collection i will have another huge one once I upgrade to an iPhone 15 or 16 Pro. I will be keeping it longer than any other iPhone, as always.

Favorite Apple Watch band?
