Will it ever happen? Typing this from my iPad mini 4 the mini is the perfect “lazy on the couch want something a little bigger than your phone device”. My mini 4 stutters a bit in the Best Buy app and doing some other things. We need a 5!

Would be nice if all iPads were non-reflective.

Sign me up too. I will buy another if they every decide to update it.

But it is looking like an End-Of-Life product to me.

Oh, and my daughter wants an iPhone SE2.... she doesn't want a gigantic phone. Heavy sigh.

I had forgotten the iPad mini was still a thing. They were very popular back in the day - especially when most people had iPads of some sort, my aunt had one! But I personally think they’ve bridged that gap with the larger iPhones and ipad minis are a thing of the past.

The mini has always been my perfect travel device, this year I had to take my 10.5 Pro which is too big to comfortably carry around with me. (My XS Max, while very nice, is in NO way a substitute for the mini). If there is an update it I would replace the 10.5 pro immediately, if not I think I will have to buy another mini 4.

That's a good deal for the iPad Mini 4. Really struggling not to impulse buy it now.

I'm hoping Apple surprises us and comes out with an updated mini (pro) or if they don't prices go down even further on the Mini 4.

Starting to read more books now and rather than get a kindle I'd prefer getting a mini 4 since it's more versatile. Plus reading on mu 12.9" iPad is a pain and the XS Max isn't really suitable for long term reading for my older eyes.

The best deal on the Mini 4 was $125 off (which brought it down to $275 for 32GB model... that's when I bought it to supplement my 12.9 Pro). I would be surprised if it goes on sale for more than $100 off.

It's possible that the Mini 4 will be just like the iPod Touch and simply over-ripen on the vine without any updates and without being discontinued.

I firmly believe that there won't be a Mini 5 (no room in the pricing structure, and no longer any competition from similarly sized Android tablets).

[doublepost=1539743561][/doublepost]If they kill off the mini, they just killed off the iPad for myself and many others here. Like many the size proportions make it prefect for travel, reading a ebook, or surfing the net in bed.

I refuse to go pro because it’s just a brick. If I want a large screen, I got my MacBook to accomodate me. I will buy a iPhone Max next year to be my mini replacement should they discontinue the line.

Sadly without the mini the iPad family seems very boring, gone are the choices of size, and the lower cost.

I travel a lot, and love the iPad mini form factor. It’s the perfect travel size iPad. But it doesn’t look good for the mini. The iPad mini 4 is over 3 yrs old now, and is the only current iPad that isn’t compatible with the Apple Pencil. If Apple doesn’t at least give the iPad mini a spec bump and ability to use the Apple Pencil at the upcoming iPad event, I would say it will be officially discontinued. Perhaps there is one last chance in March for an iPad mini update alongside the regular 9.7” iPad. But if a year from now there is no update, it truly will be dead.

Although I don’t agree, I believe Apple thinks the iPhone XS Max has replaced the need for an iPad mini.

Personally, I would love to see a bezel-less iPad mini with face ID and an 8.5” screen. Apple...you listening? Lol.

A bezel-less Mini would be ideal for me as a travel device. Give it LTE, and it'd replace my 8 Plus....

I just want a modern updated iPad Mini that's close to the size of my Amazon Kindle Paperwhite. If there is any hint that the Mini is going away for good, then I'll have to snatch one up.

The new water resistant Kindle Paperwhite with LTE and bluetooth for audible book compatibility, with a protective case and 3yr warranty would cost about $330, or $300 less than the Mini 4 with LTE and Apple Care, but it would be so much less functional as well.

I did try an 8" Kindle Fire and it's slow as molasses, and about as responsive as my 1st Gen iPad Mini with iOS 9.3.5 installed. I traded my Mini 4 to my son for his Mini 2 so he could use the 4 at college, then my mom-in-law traded me the Mini 2 for her Mini because many of her apps are no longer supported in iOS 9.

I’d love a mini iPad the size of a kindle paperwhite as well. Something that I could grasp in one hand and read while reclining for hours. And throw in my sweatpants pocket as I walk about my home.

Holding the Kindle up to my face like a phone works, so now we know the next iPhone XI is going to have a 7.3" edge to edge screen with Face ID 3 that works in landscape and portrait mode, and ends up being slightly smaller than the Kindle due to a 1440p 16:11 screen, so that we wont need an iPad Mini.

I differ from you there. I do all my consumption at home, so when I’m out, I’d prefer to have a small minimalist one-handed phone.
Unfortunately Apple has no interest in my preferences.

I thought it was clear I was being sarcastic.

I've posted in here many times that I really want an iPad Mini 5, as my Air 2 is too big. I certainly don't want phones to get that big.

Haha believe it or not there are people in these forums who want to carry around an iPad mini as their phone! If it wasn’t for them I would have gotten the sarcasm.
