....The reason behind this - I have a very important health check coming up next week - so fingers crossed that all the hard work will have paid off....
No need to cross your fingers. There is NO way you CAN'T see significant improvements with the amount of work, detection and constancy you are putting into crushing me. :p

The fingers crossed is for my medical :) - I need good results from all the blood tests and all sorts of other things so I can relax a wee bit if pronounced 100% healthy:)

I was going to update today and got the ding about weekly stats when I got in to the gym after a morning work. It hanged with the activity icon on screen. Now I don't have any stats... awesome.

Edit: it came back! And I improved my goals!

I got my watch this morning and am keen to get involved in this but I'm having a slight problem in that my watch or the Activity app on my phone aren't registering any steps of stand ups or anything.

I've made sure software is up to date but otherwise I'm at a bit of a loss. Any ideas welcome?

Not enough info on what is happening or what you have one. However the 2 things to always try to get back on track.

  1. Health App setup
  2. Privacy>Motion & Fitness: On
  3. General>Wrist detection: On
  4. Restart both devices and if that doesn't work
  5. Un-pair and then re-pair the :apple:Watch.

I really need to get involved in this thread. I do CrossFit seven days a week, power/strength training daily and run almost every day. Although I don't track my steps as I probably could with my Apple Watch.

I weight train 5x and run(3x)/bike/cardio equipment 5x a week. Steps are just one more thing to track. It is right there for you to see anytime and you can see your weekly total anytime by Force Touching on Activity.

Perhaps I'll start today. I just dropped $140.00 on new running shoes.

I'm a fairly competitive guy. More so with myself. I'm always looking to push the boundaries and further myself physically.

Me too. I have spreadsheets of every cardio workout I have done going back to 2004.

Disadvantages:

Running is about ⅓ fewer steps per mile than walking.;)
Biking is about 98% fewer steps per mule than walking.:D:eek:

You must be approximately 25 and in outstanding shape!

I can appreciate your determination and monitoring your cardio workouts. I think my favorite advantage of running is a training in all environments with rain, frigid temperatures, or excessive heat. I work in law-enforcement and I think it's critical to train in the environment you work in.

Although, this last year, I have put on significant muscle and it has slowed down my running a little bit. I'm working on increasing speed.

Sorted thank you :)

I have a 42mm S2 Sport in space grey with black woven nylon, and am very pleased with it so far :)

Odd little step/distance 3.2 updating bug. Yesterday mid morning I clicked on the Activity App on my :apple:Watch just to see my metrics. When I scored down to Total Steps and Total Distance it was ridiculously low. Like 450 steps and 0.3 miles. Was busy and made a mental note to check back. About 30 minutes later I checked and all was ok. Today after workout I checked my iPhone to see if I got a 'Gold Star' for Rowing (trying to fill out all my 'Gold Stars' and now only have Walk to go) and my Steps/Distance was wrong again. Checked my :apple:Watch and wrong too. Finished stretching and a little gabbing, checked again and still wrong so I took a screen shot. Then checked when I got home and it had populated correctly.

My first full week with my Nike+ watch. Since I have Sundays and Mondays off, I decided I would try and fill all three rings for the first time and I did. Last night I went for a 35 minute walk. i usually walk between 7,000-10,000 in an eight hr shift at my job. My steps total will never be as high as most of the people I've seen on here though.

I think I'll go for another walk tonight.

Good start @JackieInCo, 10,000 steps daily is a great place to start, keep it up and enjoy your walk tonight:)
