Apple's CFO told the world iPhone wouldn't be available until a "few weeks" after late-September. In other words, October. Apple wouldn't Osborne their entire iPhone 11 lineup one or two months early and lose billions in revenue.

Most websites present news as quickly as possible to get clicks. But readers need to add critical thinking.

They won't be out in Oct either. Announcement in mid to late Oct means no iPhone in your hand until Nov. Pro models won't be out until Dec.

I got the Note Ultra 20 and its awesome. Might not even get an iPhone 12 now. Apple really screwed up. This isn't 2010 any longer where Android is plagued with bugs and the phones are cheap crap. There is plenty of competition and there are great premium phones out there. They will lose iPhone customers over this.
People who prefer iOS and/or iPhones are going to wait. It happens. The X wasn’t released until November 3rd. If someone is impatient and tries another platform, good on them. But Apple isn’t going to hurt over this. They’ll sell millions upon millions like usual.

Really? How many people do you think are going to upgrade? What are the big new features this year? No 120hz display killed it. You get non rounded edges this year and a new color, neat.

I’m not saying it’s a worthy upgrade per se for a tech enthusiast, but I do take into consideration that tech enthusiasts such as us in the forums make up a tiny fraction of Apple’s consumer base. I could ask ten friends who use iPhones if they are bummed about lack of 120hz and maybe 1 or 2 would even know what I’m talking about.

Except they have been saying for months that the iPhone 12 will be delayed due to Covid this year. Not sure why you thought it would magically not be delayed all of the sudden.

A lot of people dont pay attention to that chatter. They just know to expect an iPhone every Sept. So to act like they are crazy for expecting a new iPhone in Sept is silly.

Just so we're dealing with facts, Apple's CFO explicitly said "supply of the new product" would be a few weeks later. Not launch or announcement.

The overlap of people who don't pay attention to rumors about iPhones but know exactly when to expect a new iPhone is likely a pretty small group of people. Everyone in my family uses an iPhone, and many of them even upgraded to an iPhone 11 this year, but ask them when new iPhone models typically come out and not one of them would have a clue.

This is the truth. My peer just upgraded to an iPhone 11 Pro Max and had no idea the 12 was around the corner and he loves Apple products.

Who says that? They said a few weeks later so I'm more thinking: do an event on 6 or 13 October (events usually on Tuesday), pre-orders the next friday.

And most articles pointed clearly to the iPhone not being part of this event today, right? At least the ones from the last few weeks.

I was hoping in a new iPhone 12, airtags ...nothing sigh

Pretty much everyone was saying this event was for Apple Watch and iPads. Even the tagline, "time flies" suggested a Watch focus. Even Apple themselves said some weeks sgo that the iPhones would be late this year. No offense, but if you were expecting to see iPhones you let yourself get taken in by wishful thinking.
