Iphone is delayed until October so no announcement but......You can't get the iPad Air until October but was announced today. Very let down. Looks like Galaxy Z Fold it is.
So if they were announced today, you would have picked up an iPhone 12 but delayed announcement by 1 month and you're switching to a Fold? It's only a month.

Expect it won't be "a few weeks late", that's a lie. Its going to be MONTHS late. They just barely started production a few days ago. Announcement in mid to late Oct means nothing released until Nov, Pro models won't be out until Dec.

Apple usually announces the new iPhone on a Tuesday, with preorders starting that Friday and official release one week later. So if Apple schedules an announcement on October 13, preorders would start on the 16th and launch on the 23rd. The November/December timeframe you presented wouldn't even be a consideration.

Yea, and Apple usually announces and releases iPhones in Sept too.

From Nikkei:
"Manufacturing will begin on a limited scale, with mass production expected to begin gradually between the end of September and early October.

They are not going to have iPhones ready to ship that quickly. Even if they have an announcement in Oct, its going to be just like the X that didnt ship until Nov. They are going to be months late this year. Nov and Dec.

First world problems. Seriously, with what's going on in the world right now I can't believe people are that bent out of shape over a phone. Relax, it will show up soon enough.

thats what I’m saying. People are just so impatient and ignorant of everything going on. it’ll come when it’s good and ready. They’re rushing for it to be released just so they can find something to complain about once they do have it. You can’t satisfy these types of people

Here’s a interesting thought. Since the new iPhone won’t come out until either late October or early November of this year, what happens next year? Will they come out in in September like always or will they now move the timetable to October or November?

Well------- there have been many times, in tech industry, where the "leaks" were there, and then they were wrong. Apple has surprised us before. I knew the "info".....but was hoping.

I don't need a new iPhone just exactly the same as MOST of you. My 2 yr old Xs Max works and looks like new.

I only "WANT" 5g.

I certainly can wait. No problem.

But, I do have to comment: Nothing in that "event" was exciting.

Okay, you think the event was not exciting. Fair enough. I disagree, but that's a much easier to understand comment than what you led with, which was you were let down because of no new iPhones (yet). And yep, I even understand your hopeful optimism, I was hoping the same for the same reasons, sometimes the rumors aren't true and how can really forecast what apple is doing during the pandemic, but I was not at all expecting it and hence was not let down.

Me, I am very excited about the ability to measure my blood oxygenation whenever I want, and even like that Apple is going to save me money (that made me faint) with the new bundling program. I did think the whole event was dragged on for like 50 minutes more than it needed to be.

Not that anyone even cares anymore. No 120hz, smaller notch, or in-screen Touch ID. The only thing the new iPhones have to offer is 5g and a new design. And on top of that we won't even be getting charging accessories in the box. I for one will definitely NOT be upgrading to the new iPhone.

Apple announces the new iPhone in October. They will then be available in December, but due to high demand, if you did not order them immediately online, or camp for 2 weeks outside the Apple Store, there will be at least a 6-8 week waiting list and probably longer which means if you are lucky you will get your new 5G iPhone 12 in March, then in September the 13 will be released :) Enjoy!

Sounds about right for Apple these days, who can't release anything on time.

When you are the richest company in the world but cant get products out on time because of production delays, but all your competitors can, it makes you look really bad. Very poor management.

I’m actually interested that their whole line up will now have OLED displays. Even the cheapest models. Although one thing that won’t be mentioned is who will be sourcing the panels. since their deal with one of the Chinese manufacturers fell through I’m hoping they’re all Samsung quality OLED displays. in any case let’s see if there’s any surprises

I got the Note Ultra 20 and its awesome. Might not even get an iPhone 12 now. Apple really screwed up. This isn't 2010 any longer where Android is plagued with bugs and the phones are cheap crap. There is plenty of competition and there are great premium phones out there. They will lose iPhone customers over this.

Well I have been a Samsung user for about a decade now, last iPhone I owned was the 4. However despite The fact I have been able to upgrade since the start of August, I will be holding out for the iPhone 12, as I have that little thing called patience. So in short they will be gaining new customers as well as returning customers.

The thing with having an iPhone is you have more options In the things that matter, for my use case anyway. For communication you have both iMessage and WhatsApp. On android you only have the choice of WhatsApp. For navigation you get both Apple Maps and google maps. No Apple Maps for you android boy. For video we get both FaceTime and google duo. No faceytime(in borats accent) for you Samsung slugs. You can even set up google assistance using the shortcuts app on iPhone. So why would I get an android and be excluded from not having those choices and also developers make apps better, especially social media apps, for iPhone.
