But every single company isn't suffering from the delay Apple is. Samsung, Huwaei, Oppo and everyone else got their phones out right on time. This is Apple's incompetence and poor management, which couldn't figure out which screens and 5G radios they wanted to use, that has caused the delay. Huge delays and still no 120hz screens, pathetic. Look at the polls here, most want the Pro models.
LOL no they didn’t, not on their normal time schedules. Everything has suffered delays. What delusional entitled world are you living in? Just because they’re on the shelf now doesn’t mean anything when they were supposed to be released months earlier. Go order a PlayStation 5 or even an Xbox Series X right now... happy waiting

You have no idea what you are talking about. The S20 was actually a month EARLY in March. The Note 20 was released right on time, Aug 21st. Same with the P40 and Find X2 Pro, all released right on time. Try again

"South Korean outlet The Elec reported that the most popular Galaxy S20 model (the S20 Plus) shipped 3.5 million units in Q1 2020, citing Omdia figures. Meanwhile, the most popular Galaxy S10 series device (the standard S10) sold 5.2 million units a year earlier."

However - Apple set production for selling 100-150 mil. of devices...

The more I’m using iOS 14 the less impressed I am. Seems like a change in the way you do something as opposed to new bells and whistles
Time will tell

Don’t feel so entitled. Everyone is frustrated with 2020. You can’t blame Apple when manufacturing plants across the globe stopped entire production lines, assembly lines, shipping. Whole countries shut down their economies due to a global pandemic.
Now when things are starting to pick back up they are not picking up from today’s date. These suppliers have to fulfill their obligations from the point of shut down so all the way back in March. The entire world supply chain is in delay and will take months upon months to catch back up. Even if things appear to hit shelves the supply levels are depleted to the point they can’t sustain demand at the moment.
I don't feel entitled at all.. why is "entitled" the most common insult thrown around here. This is a forum where for the most part people share their hopes/praise/criticism for Apple products. All I said is I was disappointed because I'm switching from Android to iOS this year. If geeks can't even get excited/disappointed on a forum these days without being called privileged or entitled, where can we vent/share our feelings?

The s20 had to have manufacturing capacity before the lockdowns. Apple got caught right in the middle, IMO, trying to produce 50 to 60 million phones. The s20 and note 20 would love to see those numbers.

Why is DexBell constantly moaning and complaining on here about this? Why does it matter that they are weeks or even months late? It doesn’t matter at all, it is just a phone and if Samsung are so amazing, enjoy one of those (you can get that now) and stop cluttering these forums with his useless and almost trolling comments.

Also, it is not a deal breaker that they won’t have 120Hz screens either. I for one, don’t care at all about that. I have never sat looking at any of my iPhones and thought, I really need a faster refresh rate!!

Again, if Samsung offer that, buy a Samsung and stop moaning. It really is the very definition of a first world problem, there are really more important things to worry about these days.

I appreciate that some people might be disappointed, but that is all it is, just a small disappointment and it is not like they are cancelled, just a small delay.

Some of the rhetoric that people spout is utterly ridiculous.

It doesn’t, unless there’s a new feature that you really need for some upcoming project. I can’t imagine what that might be. 5G won’t give any appreciable benefit until the networks improve, and I don’t see what benefit 120 Hz refresh provides to anyone except gamers. LiDAR is a neat technology, but no one knows precisely what Apple and developers are going to do with it. I’m eager to see what camera improvements there will be, but there have been very few leaks about that. In the meantime, the current cameras work just fine.

Christmas will come when it gets here.

I use the camera for some photography jobs. The 11 camera is good but the 12 should be much improved with better lenses, bigger sensor and LiDAR. So I use my iPhone for work, not toys like most here do. However, I am probably not even going to bother now since its so late. Already have a Note 20 Ultra and will get rid of this 11 as soon as I can and be done with iPhones.

If you’re a professional photographer who’s already booked projects that require iPhone 12 camera features, that was poor planning on your part. Especially since no one knows what those features will be.

I hope you are successful with your Note 20 Ultra. No one in the this group cares if you get rid of your iPhone 11. That’s not sarcasm. Seriously, we don’t care. Your choice does not affect us in any way whatever.

I use my iphone for work also and will venture that more people than maybe you realize also use their phone for work. Using your phone for work can encompass different activities, different apps, different situations, different goals, different features and hardware etc. I can't understand the thinking that presumes "most" people will by an expensive phone, either iphone or Note 20 to use as a toy; although different strokes for different folks and you should get what works for you, for whatever your own rational is.

You're a presumptive individual, assuming that you are somehow the only person using their iPhone for work. Also, how would a one month delay in the middle of a freaking pandemic be "so late"? I think you just want to leave Apple and will throw out any tired and lame excuse you can think of to justify your decision, especially since your entire slate of arguments have been weak and misinformed.

Literally all he posts about is how pathetic apple is for delaying the iPhone & how much he loves his Note20.

Yup. When you are on the top of the mountain like Apple is, you better expect to be criticized and scrutinized when you completely botch and screw up the release of your best selling product. Jobs would have never let this happen. he would have personally hired thousands more people to make sure his best selling product launched on time and without the complete screwups Cook has allowed to happen in regards to 120hz screen and 5G radios. That era of excellence is long gone, and it shows in Apple's more recent products and how they conduct business. Sad.

Jobs would have never let this happen.

Zero proof of that statement. Jobs never ran Apple during a pandemic.

In addition Apple sold 72m iPhones in 2011 (year Jobs died). They’re now selling over 200 million.

When will you get it that you’re getting little to no sympathy here? You’ve already made it very clear you’re going to leave Apple, so why are you still here complaining about this? We know how you feel, this horse is so dead it’s been turned into glue and is being used to bind books...

Hardly anyone gives a crap about 120Hz screens, apart from you.

Why don’t you go and spend time enjoying your Samsung phone and stop banging on about how much Apple have screwed up and how appalling you think they are?

Go and gloat about how insightful you are and how stupid we all are on an Android forum. They might actually even care about your opinion.

No one here does, that’s for sure

You act like Apple has guaranteed to you that they will release the new phones every September. That is speculation at best because of perceived expectations that have not been validated by Apple in any way, shape, or form. Just because you expect it, doesn't mean you were right to expect it. The original iPhone through the iPhone 4 were released in June. The 4S didn't arrive until the following October. The iPhone X was not released until 11/3. Apple has always marched to their own beat and been late to the game with "features" and yet, they sell millions upon millions because the average user is not in a forum and does not care.

120Hz screens are by and large a marketing gimmick, nothing more. Those phones that do have 120Hz either have crap battery life or offer a toggle to lower the resolution and refresh rate to extend the battery (Galaxy S and Note series going back to at least the S9/Note9, for example). Apple never wants to be first to the market, they want to do it right. That's why they waited to release the iPod, the iPhone, the iPad, AirPods, etc. As for 5G, the ongoing lawsuits with Qualcomm were not resolved until April of 2019, which means iPhone (2020) development was already underway. Given that most of the US still lacks true 5G service (T-Mobile's marketing notwithstanding), adding that feature means that maybe 15% of the customers could even take advantage of the higher speeds. Finally, how in the hell is it Tim Cook's fault that COVID-19 affected manufacturing facilities worldwide, and is STILL affecting multiple sectors of the markets? Yes, Foxconn is largely back to full capacity now, but they had to play catch up on back orders before they could even begin work on anything new. This is not a Foxconn-specific issue either - go to Best Buy, Office Depot, Staples, etc. and try to find a Chromebook, sub-$600 laptop, printer, or webcam and tell me how well that works out for you. Not even Steve Jobs could have battled COVID-19 and won...

Jobs let all kinds of things happen. No one can say what he would or wouldn't have done. Something like that is basically neither here nor there as it doesn't really say anything one way or another.

I decided I needed a new external hard drive last week. The available selection was quite limited. Most models were out of stock everywhere I looked.
