- Listening to Cheap Trick's 'Greatest Hits' album.
Oh gosh; they go back some way. Haven't heard them in an age.
They were the favourite group of a male friend of mine, - who served in the military reserve, - and who skipped vast numbers of lectures to endlessly play games such as Pacman in our undergrad days, - and I recall how, in that gruff, terse - almost inarticulate - way of men, that mixture of kindness, affection and embarrassment, he gave me one of their albums as a gift, precisely because it meant so much to him.
So much for your holier than thou accusations of sexism.
Guess you prefer not to practice what you preach. Or sexism is fine when you're talking about men.
It seems like you have some pent up resentment towards a fellow forum goer. Were you planning to offer a thoughtful critique of what bothered you about her post or were you just going to launch into anger in hopes of starting a little squabble? That sort of behavior should be left in PRSI.So much for your holier than thou accusations of sexism.

Just spotted that the death of Prince has been reported.
Some of his stuff was excellent, ('Purple Rain' was outstanding), and, just now, I am listening to the song that is probably my personal favourite of his - a song with a great tune, and superb lyrics: "Money Don't Matter 2 Night".
I'm sure he, like David Bowie, was a nice man, but I never cared for most of their music. I don't think either will stand the test of time. I get the impression that Prince was a real entertainer. I like one or two of Bowie tracks—Let's dance and Calling ground control to Major Tom. Prince's 1999 is quite fun.
Listening to 'The Very Best of Prince' in honor of him.
That is a most unusual album cover - very striking, and very reminiscent of the mid 60s.
Is it a compilation album of one group, or a number of groups?
Or one of those amazingly creative albums that come out in that era? I ask because I have quite a lot of music from that era, including a large number of obscure tracks from obscure groups dating from then, - one of my brothers is exceptionally good at sourcing and tracking down this stuff - and I have never heard of this group.
What are they like?
This was 1978, very funky with some soul and R&B, they got quite wild and surreal. Seriously groovy stuff!
