Terrific choice.
My father's favourite was Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto No 2 (which I also love) and I will admit that I am rather partial to Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto No 1 as well.
Have The Who's album 'Tommy'playing in the background while I read my new book 'The Concrete Blonde', a Harry Bosch series.
...A few from The Beatles, two old, perhaps under-rated, but still brilliant albums: Rubber Soul, and Revolver.
And more from The Beatles: Sgt Pepper's followed by the 'White' album.
At their best, they really were very very good.

yep. 4 of my favorites from them.
Walking around a very strange mix.
Elbow
Snow patrol
Athlete
Cold play
Snow Patrol
Queen.
All good stuff.
Let It Be as well, imho.To my mind, those albums in particular have aged very well.
Sadly no. I'm out. But it's on record. First thing I'll do when I get home is hit play! So no spoilers. I had to look away as I passed all the big tv's in John Lewis!not watching the Hungarian GP?

They usually do raise my spirits! Especially when I can't decide what language I want to listen in at that moment.
If I'm feeling funkier but still multicultural Brooklyn Funk Essentials is also awesome. Particularly In the Buzz Bag which mixes funk hip hop ska and a healthy dose of Turkish music.

Have you any further recommendations that you may wish to share?
Hope you enjoyed it. My own music collection is huge and varied. So what I listen to depends heavily on my mood.
For some reason I can't quite fathom I recently went on an Alan Parsons Project kick.
