In a coffee shop.
nah. mind wanders too much when i do that.

Easy, ambient music is nice sometimes in the background, especially if I don't need to concentrate too much on what I am doing. For subject matters that require serious focus, however, I will mute the music, as I prefer silence.

Worse than music is a shared office and worst of all is the spawn of Satan known as the open plan office.

It is impossible to get the sort of work that requires serious thinking done in such an environment. In fact, that is when you may well need head-phones and music, if only to drown out colleagues.

I want to know what love is - Foreigner.
Africa - Toto.
Sweet Home Alabama - Lynryd Skynyrd.

Among others.

These three I can relate/like.

The Foreigner tune is iffy for me but it is a good song. I do like quite a few by them.

The other stuff though. Wow. Talk about guilty pleasures. :D

And that Billy Joel tune, he should have his ASCAP membership revoked for that one. He's written so many wonderful tunes and then he hit us with that one. That is his "Ebony and Ivory" ...

Also, I'm all for guilty pleasures ;)

Here's one of mine:

Tell me about it! Our open plan office (without dividers) seats 26 on a busy day.
Reason I bought noise cancelling headphones.
