46 years ago today Bowie released "Hunky Dory". The album still stands up and gets airplay. That's a quality LP by a quality artist.
Bowie was God, he was the most respected musician probably of the modern era and he was one of the very few artists of his generation who was still releasing relevant music up until his death, his best albums were Station to Station (to me his best) Scary Monsters and don't laugh Earthling, could Elton John, Rod Stewart etc. release an album of any worth after the seventies really....Bowie changed music and changed with the times not afraid to experiment, and to me that is worth more than sales.

Primal Scream- Screamadelica, man this album takes me back to High School and summer, still an amazing album after 25 years, Higher than the Sun and the 10 minute version of Come Together, also Massive Attack - Blue Lines, fantastic album.... ahh memories.

Man I hope I die before Clapton does; I wouldn't be able to handle it.
My cousin showed me the performance above the other day. We were talking about music trends today and what a shame it is that more people dont know about Clapton and this kind of music in general these days.

Clapton is amazing. The bands he's played with, all the other musicians he's played with and mentored, his musicology regarding the blues, and on the personal side his recovery from drugs (and just surviving the grief of losing his son out that window) and creating a place for others to recover from drug abuse... meanwhile still performing... just... wow. The guy is a giant.

If memory serves, he played with George Harrison on "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" - one of my all time favourite Beatles songs.

A piece I haven't heard (or listened to) in ages, although I remember watching the original TV series - agog and utterly rapt as kid, amazed that I was allowed watch it with my mum - all of a number of decades ago with my mother, who loved it.

The composer is John Barry (he of the James Bond theme and many other all known ones - such as The Persuaders, a particular favourite of mine) and the music is the Theme to Orson Welles' Great Mysteries.

I don't understand Tagalog when they sing a song. I can only understand some of it in a conversation. But your heart will feel the true spirit from this song...

Merry Christmas

The Star of Christmas
At the darkest time of the night
The stars shines its brightest
No matter how thick the clouds are
The presence of a light is guaranteed

This very light
Is within us all
There is a shine at every open-heart
The warmth of every hug
Will heal every wounds each have

The one who lit this light
Is no other than, you of course.
Thank you for your light
Christmas will be colorful once again
Thank you for your light
Christmas will be colorful once again

We are the light in the dark path
Let us unite even more
Even though we crossed the raging waves
All of us will rise again

This very light
Is within us all
There is a shine at every open-heart
The warmth of every hug
Will heal every wounds each have

The one who lit this light
Is no other than, you of course.
Thank you for your light
Christmas will be colorful once again

Hope will once shine again
Within everyone

Because of you Bro, Because of you Bro
The Star of Christmas

Thank you for your light
Christmas will be colorful once again
Thank you for your light
Christmas will be colorful once again

The one who lit this light
Is no other than, you of course.
Thank you for your light
