A good one from the 80s.
Indeed. My musical tastes are very much stuck the 80s. Most of the song titles can be used in general conversation, too. Usually, if someone said they're hungry and I'm within earshot, I'll ask "Like the wolf?" Some people get it, and when they do, let out an audible groan, and some people don't understand the reference. When I was a young lad, I'd always be mean to my little brother. At that time, I really loved American motown and du-wop and such. So when I'd be a mean brother, he'd scream out "Stop" and I'd yell out "But I'm doing it... In the name of love" and belt out the lyrics like the song goes.

Of course he hates that song. In later years during the 80s he'd make attempts at annoying me and he'd use Bryan Adams song lyrics like I did with song lyrics. I wasn't so much annoyed as I was disappointed in using Bryan Adams songs. So many better artists out there.

Elder brother never appreciated my sense of humor and teasing. So much so that he always kept a tennis ball or an apple near him. Did clock me once with an apple to the rear of the head at a beach after running past him and dumping a few quarts of ocean water and sand slurry on him.

Anyway, I bought this album yesterday. Fantastic.

lol I thought I was the only one who did that! The youngens at work sometimes look at you like your from another planet though!

And surly when someone says Stop, the correct response is Hammer time!

Surely there's more of us.

Oh, I'll have to steal that one. I've had a lot of fun lately with employees by repeating lines from various new wave bands that popped up and went goodbye soon after. Madness lyrics are the best for this task. There have been times where I've spoken out the words of a song, such as something Foreigner did, and they look at you like you're a complete nutter.

It's hilarious to see their reaction. Play a Falco song and they'll know who it is and you want to yell out "And yet you have no idea who Blondie was!?" Can't blame them. It goes both ways. I spent eight years thinking Justin Bieber was in fact a girl and it was some French-Canadian spelling of the name Justine.

Brad Mehldau's After Bach. Latest download from Apple music after reading mixed reviews and deciding to make up my own mind. I have it on an album loop for a couple days now, so that's a yes from me. If you like Mehldau in general, the particular preludes/fugues of Bach as selected and played by Mehldau (he's not into "I'll play Bach his way you play him your way") and if you like the idea of a jazz pianist and composer improvising off material from the Well Tempered Clavier then you're all set. Some of the reviewers balked. That's their problem, I'm having fun listening again and again.

lol.. (i heard of people getting into music, but this is ridiculous.)

Good idea! Found a video performance, great comment appended: "sixteenth century Jimi Hendrix" :D

Brilliant - and isn't it just? "Sixteenth century Jimi Hendrix" - wonderful.

A lovely piece; I have yet to articulate fully why this sort of music appeals so strongly to me and resonates so deeply - but it does.

I’m on a call listening to people talk endlessly about everything except the reason for the call. Searching my desk drawers for a can of gasoline to pour on myself and a match.
After having worked in a call center, I can relate to this.

Our hold music was so horrible I dreamed about it for a while.

If anyone has Esurance, you know what I'm talking about.
