The music is nowhere as creepy as the album art. (Yikes!)

Jimi Hendrix - Woodstock Rehearsals (ATM 003).

The interplay with Larry Lee on second guitar is beautiful.

Having a listening fest with the two new releases from Kacey Musgrave. Can't wait till the album releases and I can hear the rest of it (already pre-ordered it). Such a talent. Sadly, country radio is seemingly reluctant to play her stuff, despite her music winning awards. Too busy playing bro country and hick hop to play actual country music.

Agree. The joy of a found track on your iPod music library long forgotten.

Oh, yes, absolutely agreed.

My problem with the Manic Street preachers is that they are on an iPod (an old iPod Touch that still works perfectly) that is no longer linked to my computer's library.

The HDD on my MBP (my first Apple computer) died (taking its music library with it, and no, my back up was not up to date); now, as it had Applecare, - it was almost three years old at that point, and - through the Apple store - a buyer wished to purchase it subsequently - it (the HDD) was replaced without a murmur but I had lost the music.

I rebuilt the library (most of it plus a lot more) on the first MBA I had - but never found the Manic Street Preachers CD; however, it is still on the iPod Touch that had been linked with the MPB, so when I want to listen to the Manic Street Preachers, that is where I go.

Yes iTunes isn't infallible, but you can just as easily lose a physical CD.

The current version of iTunes is a nightmare - or, at least, it was when I tried to set up my new iPod Touch (bought last October), because it wanted Apple ID nonsense and all I wanted to to link the iPod to the computer so that the music - and music is all I ever wanted on an iPod - could be transferred.

This used to be seamless. Eventually, I worked out that if you turned the wireless connection off, the computer and the iPod Touch would happily shake hands with one another, without any trouble whatsoever.

I hear a lot of complaints about iTunes on here, but it's always worked pretty well for me. Just the one case when a playlist I created would not appear on my iPhone no matter what I did. Sorted it with a call to Apple.

It used to be brilliant, effortless, straightforward and seamless, but then they had this brainstorm about the Cloud - which doesn't interest me in the slightest - and made the whole thing a real pain to use.

Now, I still love my iPod, but I think Apple has decided that the future of music consumption lies elsewhere.

Indeed, once they discontinued the iPod classic, it seemed obvious that their whole approach to the purchase and consumption of music had changed.

So much so that I decided that it is high time to come up with a parallel path for accessing my music - all I ever wanted is a music player - and invested in an Astell & Kern player when last home.

Again, I was sick, so a visit to the store to be instructed in how to actually transfer music from computer to device will have to take place when I am next home. (A few weeks time....)

I have said it before, but I love The Verve.

Looks like a fascinating album. I'll be interested in how you find it - sometimes the rare and unreleased stuff is rare and unreleased for a very good reason.
Some of these types of albums are interesting from a historical/musicological/anthropological point of view, especially when the artist is someone who is quite prominent in th culture, but here I actually find quite a lot of good music too. There are different takes of the same songs, many of which are quite excellent, plus plenty of classic folk songs, blues, etc. that he performs admirably.
