Now I'm listening to Duruflé's Requiem! The 1961 version. This one honestly sounds like it could be used in a film (I wonder if it has been...)
The original album is superb.
Genesis - The Cinema Show
Just scored my tickets for The Musical Box, celebrating the 50th anniversary of Selling England By The Pound. If you are a fan of this era The Musical Box is no tribute band, they are known for their meticulous recreations.
The original is superb.
Actually, I had that on LP (cough), for those who remember what that was, and also have it on CD, and, on my computer's (and iPod's) iTunes.
Terrific album.
How does it compare to the original LP?
So far, and based on one song, it's fantastic. It's neat hearing what the song sounds like unpolished. And there are little vocal bits that are hidden in the final product that you can hear now.How does it compare to the original LP?
So do I, Moon Safari is a staple in my playlist.
Agree, agree, agree.So do I,
Mine also.Moon Safari is a staple in my playlist.
I love it. A wonderful stripped down version. Getting to hear all the stuff that got covered up in post production. It is odd hearing these little things and thinking that they might be considered "imperfections" but they still made it onto the final mix, just hidden. How does it compare to the original LP?
Heroes, and The Man Who Sold The World - David Bowie.
Actually, I'm rather partial to them both, as it happens. If you ever liked Human League and/or Heaven 17, check this out:
