Abba Gold Anniversary Edition 👍

I remain eternally grateful to ABBA for the pleasure they gave my mother.

She loved ABBA, and unfortunately, developed dementia.

During her long decline, we had ABBA (her face would light up when I pressed 'play', when the CD (yes, it was ABBA Gold - Dancing Queen was the first track, while Waterloo, was the last) had finished, to start if off, again, and, in a good mood, she would attempt to conduct to the music - earlier, while still mobile, sometimes, she had danced to it) playing on an almost continuous loop in her room.

A day of hiking to some caves in the mountains with my wife n kiddos (5 & 7 y/o playing offense and my 1.5y/o on my back LOL) and Turbs our crazy lickaholic beagle has led to some more mellow choices on the car ride back home today.

Then we got home and took a nap.

...and a great video of four kids who don't (as far as I know) cover That Older Band's tunes, but damn they're sure channeling them!

I love Greta Van Fleet! Classic Rock still lives in the 21st century🥰

A small playlist I made of them😊

Diana Krall - The Look of Love. By the way, does anyone have any recommendations for similar-sounding stuff? Claus Ogerman was an absolute genius (he arranged all the tracks). Gene Puerling of Singers Unlimited, and Claus Ogerman are the only two arrangers I know who can write this sort of stuff.

Reason I ask is because this stuff has inspired my own playing so immensely, and while it's certainly good to keep listening to the same records, I think I need to find new similar-sounding material.

I'm not personally a huge Krall fan but some family members are. So based on what I know from their tastes and my 30,000 foot level knowledge of Krall's career, I'd say it depends on if you're talking about her standards period or her pop/"world music"/NPR listeners' fave period.

Having said that, you could give these players I like a try (I've left out obvious artists such as Nina Simone and Natalie Cole):

Eliane Elias
Renee Rosnes
Artemis
Hazel Scott
Madeleine Peyroux

and moving beyond jazz to a a couple of specific albums:
