Diana Krall - The Look of Love. By the way, does anyone have any recommendations for similar-sounding stuff? Claus Ogerman was an absolute genius (he arranged all the tracks). Gene Puerling of Singers Unlimited, and Claus Ogerman are the only two arrangers I know who can write this sort of stuff.

Reason I ask is because this stuff has inspired my own playing so immensely, and while it's certainly good to keep listening to the same records, I think I need to find new similar-sounding material.
Sade?
Would also recommend giving Barbra Streisand's Broadway Album a listen; it's all broadway tunes, but the last track, Sondheim's Somewhere, is effing glorious; great arrangers and a huge number of synth programmers working to fill every damn frequency by the tunes end; my second-most-favorite audiophile showoff tune.

And next up, some smooth Latin jazz, this time from Israel "Cachao" López, a track called "Africa Viva", from a CD (bought in the Balkans following an election, I was present in my capacity as an international election observer) almost a quarter of a century ago) entitled "Master Sessions Vol II".

Digging into some out-of-print stuff:

Pharoah Sanders (this record has a great version of Coltrane's "Olé")

Magnolia Electric Company (Neil Young fans will be into this)

Sister Vanilla (The Jesus and Mary Chain brothers write songs for and back their sister!)

Ellen Foley (Mick Jones discovery..and he and his mates in the Clash are her band on this album!)

Haven't listened to any bluegrass in a good while, always great. I was once told, no matter what kind of mood you're in, listening to bluegrass will always make you happy. I can testify to this! I could listen to it all day.

Don't know if you are familiar with Zydeco music but it makes me toe tapping dance happy, and imho beats out bluegrass for that foot moving happiness injection. Right after that...for me, is Polka music....

Short playlist of some traditional, and modern Zydeco music

Good happy Polka playlist

Edit: Don't get me wrong, I like Bluegrass also. Zydeco and Bluegrass definitely have their similarities.

Pomplamoose has a new CD coming out later this summer, and they've just released the first single, Angeliqùe. I don't speak the language, but I can listen to her purr in French all day long. The chamber jazz group they have are incredibly tasteful, too (the bearded guy on synth is coleader/her husband Jack Conte, who happens to also be the founder/CEO of Patreon!).

Wow, I just noticed the condition of her 'spensive Neumann mic! My 47-yr-old SM-58 is pristine compared to that thing, and that's after 4 decades of setting up in dives!!

Dave Weckl - Here and There. Good song! Since I have the CD, I took the song into Audacity and transposed it up a step. Sounds totally different. I love doing that with songs because I can often hear the chord qualities better and I notice stuff jumping out that doesn't if it's in the original key. Audacity is a great software and has the best time stretching/pitch-shifting tools out there, at least for free.
