Totally forgot about the black iPhone X! The shiny glass black of the the X would be darker than 14Pro matte glass, while the rails on the newer phone look jet black compared to the gunmetal stainless of the iPhone X. One thing that bothers me with Space Black is the camera module lacks any definition whatseover since everything is a shiny black surface (camera lenses, polished glass back, glossy black stainless rings). Also the glossy black frame gives me strong iPhone 3G shiny black plastic vibes...

If you're like most people, you'll love the color for 1 minute and then put a case on it and never see it again lol. So really the camera bumps color, and your color preferences for cases (and how well they look together) is what matters. I think that may be why the Purple 14 Pro's are still in stock - they made a lot since its a new color this year, but not as many people will actually choose it because it limits what colors go well with it for cases

Silver & Black will be most popular because of this reason.

I forgot about how it will look similar to an iphone 3g... my first iPhone. Heck yeaaa
 
I went for silver in the end. I got Pacific Blue for my 12 PM and I ended up regretting it a bit, I think it'd be the same for the purple this time round - just looks a little dull.

I actually started with an iphone case and took it off after a few months. I'm very impressed with how far Apple has taken iphone durability in the last few years. My phone looks pristine because 1) ceramic shield glass greatly reduced scratches this year 2) frame has the PVD coating and doesn't scratch up, 3) matte glass back is extremely resistant to scratching.
 
Went with Silver for me and Purple for my wife. Haven't done silver in years, and I like the clean, sharp look personally.

I agonised over this but did the same, going for silver.

I've adored returning to silver for my new MBP this year after years of space grey, and have had the grey/dark iPhones every year since the 3GS. I am a bit scared about the change especially as I never use a case, but trusting my gut!

I have pacific blue iPhone 12 Pro Max and never liked the color. A friend has a gold iPhone and it is beautiful. So I am going for the gold.

I am definitely happy to only have one more week of the Blue. It was really cool to have the first couple of weeks but then started to get sick of it.

Am I one of the only ones getting the gold? used to have it on my XS and then did the 'special' color each cycle. Last two were minis (12 and 13) and after much deliberation decided to go for the gold again. Anyway excited to come back to the pro line (although not excited about the significant weight addition vs. the mini)...

Same thing here. I was staying up until 5 but ended up going to sleep 15 min before lol! I might just skip this one and wait for the next one at this point.
 
I've wanted a purple pro for years but knowing how Apple mutes their pro colors, this one will likely look more like gray than purple most of the time. I went for space black since it's so rare Apple provides actual black.
 
Are there any videos of the silver one? Upgrading from a silver iPhone X, still loving the stainless steel look and going for it again.

I'm pretty sure the phones he's holding at the start are actually the Gold variants, but you can see the Silver one too.

I always have a clear Spigen Hybrid case on, love seeing the colour through it

I pre-ordered my first golden 14 Pro. I made the decision early on this year. I needed to go gold, lol. The purple looks okay-ish but I think eventually it’ll grow boring on me. The purple doesn’t wow me like the 11 Pro Midnight Green did. Anyway, enjoy your new phones everybody!

I am going with gold (14 Pro Max) this year, as other than my iPhone 6s (which was rose gold) I have not had "official gold," from Apple if you will. Hoping it looks on point, now the problem is to find a case that goes with it...Apple branded only, leather is 100% preferable over silicone!
