I pre-ordered the iPhone 14 Pro Max in Space Black. Realistically, isn't it just another variation of Graphite or is it a Jedi Mind Trick to make us think it's actually black. A Matte Black would have been nice so that we could have had a contrast. It will be interesting to see what mid-season colorways Apple releases prior to Christmas or next spring.
 
I went with the Purple pro max. Always get the black one but something about this purple looks cool.

However I would of much preferred a green one

I chose purple then, at the last second, went with gold.

I went from gold on the 12 to Sierra Blue on the 13. I would have stayed with Sierra Blue if that had been an option.

But, really, once in a leather case, does it really matter anyway?

I think that may be why the Purple 14 Pro's are still in stock - they made a lot since its a new color this year, but not as many people will actually choose it because it limits what colors go well with it for cases

when I look at the leather cases online, purple lenses look really good with the black and green case….
 
Guys, how long does it usually take until you can find the phones on display in regular stores? I missed out on the pre order, so I’m gonna take the opportunity to play with them in person, and probably look out for private sellers online in the 7 coming days…

I was for sure going silver this year, had black X, then went silver for, Xs, 11 pro, & silver 12 mini, then back to space gray on the 13 pro. Now I was definitely going silver but with the space black it made me hesitant.

I've always liked smaller phones, but now I'm unsure if I should finally switch to the max or still to regular pro. I'm so undecided this year. lol

So, the phones will be on display on launch day and from what I’ve experienced, depending on some apple stores, there is almost always extra stock of some iPhones available on launch day. Just a pain to find certain time slots for pick up as it is launch day/weekend and very very busy at Apple stores. My advice is to check online apple.com by 10am open time for available stock since you couldn’t pre order.
 
Well it doesn’t look like the camera bump is any different, the optics look to be the same size. I did read that the 14 pro / pro max is a little thicker and barely heavier. Side by side 13 pro / 14 pro I suppose is the only way to tell if the cameras are larger on the 14 pro / max
 
Questions on the Silver option :
For the "mirror-like bling bling" sides ... do they attract fingerprints ?
Do the sides look like glued-on plastics ?

I think the silver band looks really sharp contrasting with the front black bezel.

I wish they would do a silver stainless with black back, similar to the old iPhone 4. Been wanting this combination for years. I like the silver sides but I really dislike the white back.
 
Oh my, why the hate on Gold. I, for one love silver but the bezel is way too much of a fingerprint-magnet... :(

That would be amazing. A bit like how I wish the AirPods Max came with the dark headband but also silver cups.
 
I always get the new colorways… my favorite so far is the Sierra blue. The deep purple is very promising tho so I have a strong feeling it would look good. But right not Sierra blue is a homerun.

The shiny smooth stainless sides do show fingerprints easily but wipe away easily as well. If you plan on using the iPhone without a case, the sides will always show fingerprints and smudges. No different than touching a mirror, or touching anything shiny especially after you touched your face and then touched the iPhone and transferred more oil LOL. My iPhone stays in a case when I’m out and about. I’ll usually take it out of the case when at home to admire it.

The stainless sides do not look like plastic, just polished steel. Have you not seen one in person yet?

Who hates the gold? Gold is beautiful and popular. Less popular than the purple this year which makes the gold color easier to buy. I’m getting gold, I’m kind of done with dark iPhones, it’s difficult to get a case that looks good with black unless you get a black case, or even the purple. Gold blends well with many colored cases, I like the pink cases a lot with gold. What I mean by not blending well with dark iPhones is that a graphite iPhone mixed with a light colored case just looks took dark around the cameras, I’m just no longer a fan of a dark iPhone. The silver is awesome but the stainless scratches to easily.
