What did you get for Christmas??

Maybe Christmas is not important to them? I know, it is not important to me, and on Christmas Eve I was spending time with some new friends (older couple, who were also in drug rehab), and I didn't get any presents either, other than good food, not spending the day alone and some fun card gaming.
As for why I don't really care about Christmas, is not having a family to share it with and as I come from a broken home, and Christmas was kinda crappy.
Funny coincidence though, I was produced on Christmas Eve, after my parents made up after a heavy fight. Maybe it is genetically bred into me. ;)

Well, Happy Birthday and Merry Christmas.

It's nice that you got to spend the day with friends and you had a good time.

I'm not sure if your response at first was you getting an attitude or if i'm just reading too much into it, but if it was, I assure you, I wasn't trying to be mean with my question. I was just genuinely curious as to why someone wouldn't get even one present on Christmas.

NOOOOOO. I was not born on Christmas Eve, that was nine months later. I was (I don't know the English word, as conceive and procreate have more than one meaning, and can mean the act of giving birth or the act nine months before or ...) that day.

And no, I was not getting an attitude, I was simply applying my understanding of why some people don't like XMess and giving an explanation. But there will be many more reasons for not going the Christmas route.
One other reason I don't like Christmas is the commercialisation of it. It often just seems to be a holiday to spend more money than one does the rest of the year, just to buy and get presents. I guess Saturn didn't have that much gifts in mind 2500 years ago.
Anyway, I don't want to derail the thread, maybe we should open another thread for just "thoughts on christmas".

Just making sure you didn't misunderstand my intentions.

Conceive would have been the proper word.
 
The joy of making significant donations to Toys for Tots and Home for Little Wanderers. We only buy for our son. Since our son works as a animator for a game company, his gift to use is a donation to Child's Play.
 
A fair few bits and pieces; highlights are the Scotch, hand blown scotch glasses, mStand for my Macbook and the Issey Miyake Colone.

Low points are the microphone cable for headphones I don't yet own and capacitive gloves (they are just kinda ugly, I don't feel the need for them).

Everyone liked my gifts, which was lovely; even if I didn't give them what I consider to be decent enough presents.

iPhone 4S Black 16GB on Sprint- Got it a week early because of our contract or something

Clothes- Nike Fly Camo Shorts, Nike KO sweats, Michigan Stadium GO BLUE shirt, Every Damn Nike Nike shirt(glows in the dark!), You're gonna need a bigger bat Nike shirt, and my fav-Nike KO full zip Camo Print sweatshirt

Then a few extra things- Packers book showing every game in their run to XLV champs, some mints to keep it fresh, and Almond Rocas(AMAZING CANDY)

Several years ago my wife and I decided instead of big gifts for each other we'd just buy a token present and then donate the remainder to charity. She got a new screen for her broken nano and I got a t-shirt. No other gifts. The Canadian Cancer Foundation and UK's Save the Rhinos Foundation got all the other money we would of spent :)

Just a cd and some clothes and a ton of candy. Apparently my family thought I was deprived in basic training of that stuff. That's why I got in shape and lost fat and gained muscle. Not having anything sweet lol. Oh I bought myself an iPad 2 for Christmas. :)

I just don't. I quit celebrating it because it's always just awkward and dumb having to fumble around to find things to say and buy to family that I've grown apart from. Getting gift cards and stuff like that just reaffirms that distance. I spend time with my family and everything, we just don't get each other anything anymore I suppose. I also don't have anything I want, well, except a few replacement keys for my macbook air that I can't seem to find on eBay.
 
Cash and my bedroom was renovated. The bedroom renovation was the best gift considering I have been wanting this forever.
