******** it isn't. Don't be one of those idiots who think that smartphones need to have batteries that last 25+ hours with moderate usage just because dumbphones can. There has never been a set standard or expectation, from the first smartphone until now, that smartphones should last at least 24 hours. The iPhone battery life is top of class but if that's not enough then you can certainly demand more but keep in mind that battery tech has remained, relatively, unchanged for decades and its one of the hottest puzzles to solve in the world right now. The next big battery breakthrough will be the biggest thing since electricity, the wheel or fire.

For sure you'll be happy from 10h battery if all what you do in your life is 'wake up > work > home > sleep', but you forgetting different ppl having different needs, and some having life outside work. So looks like im one of those "idiots" that expecting my phone to work at least full day on a single charge.

'Smartphones for dump people' describe you perfectly after reading your other comments.

The iPhone is not top of it's class, especially the standard model.

Just because you can get through a 10 hour work day and don't need your phone to last you into social activities after work, or more importantly have a decent charge in the event of an emergency, doesn't mean most of us could benefit from extra battery life.

If people are having to carry chargers, portable chargers, battery cases, etc., it's clearly obvious the battery life of the phone is not as good as it should be.

Do you sleep, eat, shower, or any other things of that nature? Im not saying the battery can't be improved especially on the 6s, the plus is much better, but what would you consider acceptable battery life?

Me, yes. on the other hand the guy i replied to, not so sure...

About battery life - 24h usage and 5-7 days standby on a single charge would be acceptable for me.

I tend to buy a new phone every 2 years. Hand off my old phone. Main new feature would be additional battery life. It is a given that new phones will have additional cellular connectivity. Needed with the addition of additional cellular bands.

Magnets!

No really, I'd love to see something like this incorporated into the next iPhone. It'd be a lot more "elegant" than the current external battery, and could have versatility beyond just charging.

Better battery, much better camera, better screen quality as in all seriousness the screen is dreadful when compared to the Note5 or Z5.
Yes indeed, the upcoming model needs to catch up to today's best displays. As does Apples rather mediocre battery life.

It's time for Apple to live up to its own _capabilities_ and deliver a more reliable, stable, bug free user experience. Enough of the random issues with Safari, the random issues that have become the norm, and all too frequently resurface.

I'd forego new features in exchange for an iPhone "That Just Works".

For me the size of the 6S is about right (using an iPhone 5S currently).

So 1080p 4.7" display
Better battery life
Flush design (no stupid protruding camera)
Thinner bezels
OIS on the camera

That's it really for me, the current 6S is a really dam good phone, even my 5S is still a dam good phone. I would be happy if it were a mm or so thicker if it meant a better battery life. The ever thinner ethos is getting stupid now in my opinion.
In terms of design the 5/5S is my favourite. But really, battery life is the only major issue where I'm really not satisfied with my iPhone.

Longer battery life, and 1080p resolution on both models.

there is seriously no need for 2k screens on anything less than 5.6 and up screens. unless you want garbage battery life.

With the plus Apple is giving you the garbage battery life of high resolution without actually showing it to you.

5.2 inch screen with less head and chin space. Copy the LG G2 from a couple of years ago.

less bezel, edge to edge screen like the Galaxy Edge and water resistense like the Apple Watch would be cool + fast charging, charging at least twice a day is annoying

i noticed while on vacation that the iPhone 6 battery sucks especially when you take a lot of pictures throughout the day. it never lasted more than 3,5 hours and i had to use my battery pack 3 times a day sometimes

I'd love to see a lower price.

Yes, lower price. Overall engineering costs must be down by now. But, as long as the minions, including me, :) keep buying it won't happen.

I will also vote for longer battery life as it is less than my 6 Plus. I would say about 10-15% for me.

Otherwise, pretty damn good as is.

40% profit margin, with 2/3 money coming in from outside USA. Perhaps a 10% drop to 30% profit would be sufficient.

First, I have moved back to phones sized like the 6s, I would own an Android phone if any of the manufacturers would build a smaller phone with all premium features. I do not hold brand loyalties. If it does everything I need at a fair price, I'm in. My Moto X 2014 was close to perfect FOR ME but still a tad big. Nonetheless, I broke the screen and have since gone back to Apple. My wish list goes like this:

Allow third party apps that clearly outperform Apple equivalents to be main apps. Start with allowing Google Voice to replace the near useless Siri from the press and hold home button action. Allow Google Maps and Google Now to replace Apple equivalents. Allow Swiftkey to have all the functionality of the Android version including a microphone key. I travel a lot so all of these items I use constantly. Get rid of the physical home button and implement virtual keys like android. with the force touch now in place, this will probably happen on the 7. I know Apple moved the headphone jack to the bottom to prep users for coming proprietary Lightning connector supplies audio. I actually like good sound from my headphones and as it happens I am not a fashion plate nor desire to be a Playa' therefore would prefer headphone jack back on top option for those who prefer good construction and sound quality from their headphones over a Beat Off "b" on there headphones. Hopefully one of the Android vendors will just bring out a nice quality 4.7-5" small phone that fits in my jeans when riding my motorcycle because none of the items I desire listed above are coming to Apple.

so basically you want Android phone with Apple logo on it...

Read my other comments. I said I get at least 10 hours by my usage. That means on a particularly busy day I can go 12 hours before needing to charge. But yea, people have different needs. I'm just going to throw out there that someone who uses their phone much more than me can go 8 hours before needing to charge. That's still your average working day which sounds excellent. Its unbelievable to get a phone to go 24 hours of usage on a single charge but please, keep demanding it so manufacturers keep investing in R&D. At least keep your expectations reasonable.
I laughed when you posted this:
About battery life - 24h usage
Because its so ignorant and detached from reality.

The iPhone is not top of it's class, especially the standard model.
Yea it is. Compare the battery life of all iPhones, first to last and compare with the various competing phones of each generation. iPhones will be there at the top of the charts... Its inconceivable how you can even type out such a outrageous statement because it flies in the face of a history of reports and benchmarks.

If people are having to carry chargers, portable chargers, battery cases, etc., it's clearly obvious the battery life of the phone is not as good as it should be.
Like what are you trying to say here? That battery supplement products exists to show that battery life is poor? What kind of logic is that? So, if the iPhone battery could last 24 hours of streaming video then you won't see battery supplements or charging products? non sequitur

I'm talking about this years phones. The iPhone 6s falls in the average rating for battery life with it's Android competitors, with some being much better and some being worse.
