Thing with spiderman is, that I hate they release the game, and release three DLC's this year. Makes me feel like a milking cow. Don't want to spend €90 on a game. So I'm waiting for the x-mas sales and I'll pick up the game for €60ish with all the DLC's.

The web swinging in Spider-Man is ridiculous. I chased a getaway car swinging through the manhattan skyline. That alone is worth $60.
I was struggling with this until one of the load screen tips explained you need to release the web near the bottom of the swing and grab another to keep up speed. Otherwise you get height, but no speed and have a tough time catching the car.

Really enjoying the game so far.

Yeah, there is totally a learning curve to swinging and fighting. If you want to really pick up speed swinging, at the height of your arch, hit L3 and you’ll speed toward the ground. Spin a web and vroom - like a cannon shot. Awesome for catching a car.

TIL... I'll give that a try. :D

The game really flies when you get the hang of using Spidey. I thought I had but now that I’m advancing in the story I’m getting my butt kicked more. I need to become comfortable moving more. I’m too used to the Batman fighting mechanic where’s you just pound the attack button for the most part.

Yes, however my timing with spidey sense is off. Or when you have more than one enemy about to hit you, it seems the dodge works with one, but the other one will still nail you. This is why I need to move more. Incorporate web swinging into the fighting.

Gee, it's almost like the folks who made a Spider-Man game want me to fight like Spider-Man ;)

And I totally forgot that Tomb Raider is about to be released. I need some 3 day weekends STAT.

I started on Metroid: Samus Returns recently. I'm only a couple of hours in. I'm already sick and tired of the parry move. Those damn blue bat things are annoying. The arm cannon is too weak against these peon enemies. It's really dragging down the whole experience.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 at the moment. It's so good. Going to play the expansion prequel next.

I have a PS4 Pro too and tempted to pick up that Tomb Raider bundle with the Xbox One X...

Strange Brigade - fun (coop) shooter in a pulp IndyJones/Mummy setting. Probably a bit pricey for a casual player.

Really hope they do a Nati Zombi Army IV with those refined mechanics and gorgeouse gfx.

Problem these days is too many awesome games are getting released. My list of games to play grows faster than my list of finished games... And I've made a pact with myself that I have to finish a game before I go on to the next.

Currently finishing Horizon Zero Dawn GotY Edition and have at least 10 games on my harddrive waiting to be played and in a couple of months the Christmas promotions will be hitting us again and I'll be picking up Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Read Dead Redemption 2, Resident Evil 2, Just Cause 4, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, God of War, Spyro Reignited and Far Cry 5...

But they will only add to my problem: when will I have time to play all these games?! #FirstWorldGamerProblems

The struggle is real! 60+ games to play here. A good number of them are not short games either. It’ll take me years to get through everything, lol.

I feel exactly the same, and I've only got like 10/11 games in the waiting list!

I bought too many games on sales when I first got the PS4, and have only finished 7/8 of the total, plus then I bought the Switch and some more games and they're just too long! I wish games were shorter!

It took me 40 hours to finish Uncharted 4!! Another 40 hours to finish Mario Odissey and 125 to finish Zelda!! How can anyone play every game they like when they're so damn long!!??

I also promised myself to stop buying games until I finish some more, since it's money wasted all those games I haven't touched yet.

Problem is, the last three months I've only wanted to play Splatoon 2 It's such an addiction. Haven't touched any game since I started playing that one, so I haven't progressed in finishing all those games I have pending, which is a problem if I want to buy something new like Spider-Man.

Also, when Smash arrives I just can't see myself playing anything else in months again.

The good thing is that while I'm busy with the games I have the ones I want to buy will only keep getting cheaper, so it's great that I can buy God of War for 20€ right now. I'll wait for Spider-Man and others like that one to become cheaper.

Only games I see myself buying outright are Smash and maybe the new Pokemon, which I haven't played in forever, so want to try it again.

Haha, it's good to read I'm not the only one with the burden of the unfinished games :-D I only got my PS4 Pro last summer and since then I finished Uncharted 1, 2, 3 & 4 and got platinum trophy on assassin's creed origin (really loved that game) and currently 40 hours in Horizon Zero Down.

And in my last post I didn't even mention I got the PSVR last Christmas and have at least 10 games on it... I've played them all for a couple of hours and they're all cool, but when will I ever finish them when I can't even finish my non-VR games... /sigh

There are two factors that really threw me out of the loop: Minecraft and kids!

For probably more than a year, I played nothing but Minecraft. Normally I would have finished 2-3 other games during that time.

And since I became a father 3 years ago, I simply do not have much time for gaming anymore. Dishonored 2 took me over a year to beat.

Bought and unopened: Witcher 3, ME: Andromeda, Alien Isolation, Saints Row 4, Silent Hill Downpour, Resident Evil 7, Zelda BOTW, the list goes on... At least I have managed to not buy any more games in quite a while.

Agreed with the kids part! :D

I also came to the conclusion that open world games - while in itself incredibly promising - aren't really for me since I do not have those big time slots anymore where I can deeply sink into a game, more or less uninterrupted, world for hours. Means I come back to some sidequest and likely have no clue about the context anymore and what I was about to do.
Shame that this goes for the Dark Souls games a bit as well :(

So more arcadey and/or rather linear for me.
