Then there's the FF8 replay I started a few weeks ago; I'm currently in the desert prison and I hate that place so I stopped playing!

I've actually been playing an iOS game, but didn't see a recent thread in the appropriate sub forum for this. I started playing Super Mario Run when it first came out but gave up after a few days, disappointed that they'd turned an excellent platformer unto a single button endless runner.

But I came back to it, and I must say that it's really well made. It actually maintains the depth of standard Mario games; it's extremely easy to control but a challenge to play. In hindsight, I don't know why I expected anything else. Think of how many classic Mario games you played by just holding down the right directional button and pressing A whenever you needed to jump.

Not only does it play as well as other 2D Mario games, but it's also evident that the developers put a lot of thought into level layout. There are tiles that pause Mario's running, letting you time your next jump to get a combo off of an approaching enemy, there are earlier sections of levels that have you do something seemingly bizarre and contrived so that you know what to do when you encounter new mechanics at the end of the same level, and there are sort of decoy mechanics—places where it looks like you should do one thing, but if you do, it makes it impossible to get a star coin, so instead you must think of an alternate approach.

If you made the same mistake I did in thinking Mario Run was another shallow endless runner with an expensive IP attached, I'd highly recommend checking it out.

Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and Smash Ultimate.

Pokemon is the first one I play since the yellow version, so a little bit of nostalgic there. Trying to get back on the Pokemon fever.

Smash is also the first one I play since the N64 days. Game is awesome! So much stuff. World of light is nice but so so so many spirits! And some are REALLY tough!!

But it's cool unlocking the characters and playing online. Best fighting game IMO. So much variety, stages are awesome, objects, smashs, movements, etc. Love it! I was sooooo hooked in the N64 days!

Hope to get plenty of the game in the next few years!

Ever since an article was published about Epic removing their Infinity Blade trilogy from the App Store, I've been trying to think of how to play older iOS games that have met the same fate.

In most cases, once you update to an OS that no longer supports an app, that's it; you won't be able to use it again. Fortunately, I had an older iPod touch and access to my old family computer, so I made this little shrine to games on the App Store circa 2008:

Went back to Hope County, Montana in the form of new game + in Far Cry 5. Completely different game experience when you begin the game with a suppressed weapon, sticky grenades and the first two missions you do are to rescue Boomer and Peaches!

I went backwards with the Far Cry franchise, I never played 3 or 4 - finished 3 and am playing 4. 3 showed its age a little with graphics and overall gameplay, 4 on the other hand is quite the nice play so far and visually impressive for a game that is over 4 years old...playing both on the onex.

For me I am currently playing Forza Horizon 4, God of War and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Torna.

Been playing Diablo 3 on my Switch, I got it for Christmas and it runs super smooth on the Switch :)

I've also been playing We Happy Few on my Nvidia Shield TV, this is the future of gaming I tell you, it runs at 60FPS in 1080P with the settings on ultra. It's streamed on Nvidia's Geforce Now service, this is on my 55mbps down and 10mbps up broadband connection! Seriously impressed with how well it plays.

I got Resident Evil 2 yesterday and it's doing a pretty good job at keeping my attention (I also played through RE1 when the PS4 version was released on PS+ a year or two ago).

I've made it into the sewers. I don't know (and don't want to know) how far through I am but I'm likely to dive back into it tonight :)

Is there much of a story to this game? I generally don't like zombie games where the game mostly consists of things jumping out of the dark to scare you, and not much of a story to go along with it.
