GTAO E&E on Series X, and wow, it's a blast having played the 360 version for years, but skipped the XBone generation. Not having the deal with the Story mode (which I never played on 360) and having a half-price Online only version, which isn't a subscription service... 😍.

Bit demoralising, having to start a character again from scratch, however. The whole having to set up a career as part of the onboarding is annoying - they give you all this money to start, but then make you spend it on an aspect of the game you may have no interest in playing. They also don't explain if / what the consequences might be for choosing one career over another.

Is there a way to migrate to new gtaV (series x version) without having old disc?
I know I must upload my game saving to cloud to migrate, but I don’t have the disc anymore to do it. Or will I need to rebuy/borrow old version to set up migration?

The instructions seem to indicate it's something you need to push from a running copy of the old game, and I suspect it has to be connected to a rockstar social club account. Might be worth contacting their support people?

It needs to be uploaded from a running game, so you will need a disc for the process. Borrowing one for a day is probably the easiest and least expensive solition.

This only applies to story mode though. Don’t need to do this for your online save file. Just register the PS5 version for the social club thing, and you will get access to your character.

I read a Reddit thread earlier and it stated that I will not be able to play with previous gen players. I think I’ll just repurchase the xbox-one version just in case I do want to play with my friends….they have no plan on buying a new series x/s system yet.

I bought the xbone version a couple of weeks before the e&e release - it was cheap, and i didn't know e&e was coming out. The onboarding for GTAO was broken, and I couldn't get it to progress past buying something in the clothing shop. It would make the noise for the purchasing UI, bu the UI wouldn't actually show up, despite blocking control actions. Same thing for the long hold to bring up the quick menu - the sound of it happening would occur, and action buttons would be captured, but no menu appeared.

may not be a problem if you already have a savegame or character.

I will say, once you download the GTAV remastered version (On my PS5), it goes really quick depending on your Internet speed. I think it took a total of 15 minutes or less for the entire download/patch for completion, then you can select if you want to play ‘Online or story’. [Online requires an additional fee, but I believe it’s free until a certain time frame…]

Also, to access the highest graphical settings, you’ll have to navigate through the pause menu and select ‘Performance RT’ mode, make sure HDR is enabled. The other two downgraded graphic settings is standard ‘Performance’ and ‘Fidelity’ modes.

Downloaded Tainted Grail: Conquest off gamepass. That quickly sucked me in. It's a card collecting game like Monster train or Slay the Spire, but with more story.

I can see a lot of hours going to this one.

Just a few more screen grabs.

Pretty amazed how a 9 year old game truly shines on the PS5. And not just graphically, really the entire game with how fluid it is, and it’s a denser world, which is something I wasn’t expecting. And for ~$10, take a advantage of the hardware if you have it. I mean, heck I spend $10 at Jimmy John’s like three times a week.:D

Take a look at the carousel photo. This is the most impressive one. Look at the pattern of the water from the sunlight, how it’s more scalloped in the front and darker in the back and then the reflection of the carousel in the water, along with the players shadow in the water. There is a lot happening in this photo.

Finished the Dying Light 2 story mode, for me it’s not as good as the Dying Light 1 story, and the final boss fight was a chore. Also I had screen tearing in the balanced mode, but I don’t have a VRR TV.
Will play around some more in the game as it’s got endless areas to explore. But also want to finish Halo Infinite campaign that I was really enjoying but stopped for Dying Light 2.

I wrapped up Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker expansion. Now going through Elden Ring on PC, Horizon: Forbidden West on PS5, Judgment on Xbox Series X, and SaGa: Scarlet Grace on he Switch.

Good grief, the backlog is huge.

Just finished Alan Wake. I give it a 7/10. Looking forward to the next one with a better story.

Widemaw tusks are a pain to collect!
Need to shock them, their mouth will be open and you can shoot'm right out.

Far Cry 6. It’s one of the best games I’ve ever played and is huge. I doubt i’ll be playing anything else for the next 6 months, but then I only really sneak a bit of time on it here and there.
I started playing FC6 but then Horizon Forbidden West dropped so had to put it aside, but I'm looking forward to going back to the island.

I’m 50 hours into Elden Ring and have barely scratched the surface. It’s already turned into my favorite game ever. It’s shockingly good on so many levels.

When I’m not playing it I’m on the ER subreddit lol.
Reading so much good stuff on this game... Added it to my "to buy"-list, but first need to finish Horizon (almost there), Far Cry 6 (30% done so far) and GTA V, so guess Elden ring is something for late summer/fall...

Backlog, my biggest first world problem.

So….about that PS5 GTA V update:

Was it worth paying the ~$10.00 for the downloadable PS5 upgrade?

In every way possible, I can’t believe how much more stunning GTAV looks on the PS5 compared to the PS4 disc version. Graphically, it’s not even the same game. And once you play the PS4 version first, then play the upgraded PS5 version with ray tracing, @60 FPS, and the ‘Performance RT mode setting’ on a quality panel TV like my Samsung QLED, you can’t go back and play the PS4 version, because it will look so dated.

The other technical host of improvements, includes greater draws distances showing more detail, vehicle updates, the sound dynamics has been improved in the game (For like explosions, dialogue, ambient noises..ect), The NPC’s have more fluid movement and have more dialogue, there is way more vehicle and pedestrian traffic, giving the game a sense of more fullness, changing the dynamic from day and night cycles.

Below are some screen-pics of the new update:

[None of these photos have been edited in anyway whatsoever.]

(If you look at the lighthouse photo, you’ll see like the foam in the water, the spotted clouds and the reflection from the lightHouse in the waves, the Color of the water changes depending where you’re looking at it, these are details that weren’t present before in the PS4 version.)

<awesome screenshots>

I have never played GTA V before, I never had a PS3 and it has been in my PS4 backlog for years. Irony was that I started playing and literally two days later the update got announced, so put it aside. And now after a looooooooooong wait, the update is finally here. Bought it already but it will have to wait for me to finish HFW (95% done, finished the story, but need 4 more trophies for the platinum one) and FC6 (30ish % done, started before HFW came out). But I must say these screenshots, and the extra ones you posted, are making me look forward to this game!

I would definitely recommend finishing whatever games are currently playing because when you start Elden Ring it will take over your life. I had to get up at 6:30 today and was up to 3 playing 😮

He’s anyone played Bio Mutant? I’ve been tempted by it and it’s in the Xbox store on sale so am tempted, I don’t think it’s been on Game Pass either? Anyone think it was good? Is it a long game to play? I’ve seen some say it’s a relaxing game? I found The Gunk to be really good and relaxing so thought it may be a similar vibe?

So the other day I bought:

Elden Ring
Immortals Phoenix Rising
Biomutant (yeah I bought it, not a bad game)
Chernobylite

Not a bad collection, Elden Ring is a bit confusing? Do I need to play it online? Can I play it single player if it's online? I currently have it offline.

The others are pretty good too.

I've also been playing the side missions in The Ascent.

Also need to finish Halo Infinite.

To your Elden Ring questions. Yes.

Longer answer, like nearly all Soulsborne games from FromSoft [Sekiro being the exception], you're playing a single player game, even when online. What the online for is for co-op and PVP, which are completely optional [for the most part]. You can invite other players into your world to help with difficult bosses/areas, or open yourself up for PVP, you can even write messages of help and support of other players.

You'll be just fine to play in offline mode, but it's kinda part of the fun to see the messages, shadows and failure of other people.

That said, been playing Elden Ring, Horizon Forbidden West, FFXIV Endwalker [getting to 6.1] lately.

Focused on getting my platinum in Elden Ring [have 2 more endings to get and have to beat.... Her] right now, it's really trying hard to dethrone Bloodborne as my favorite FromSoft game.

Thank you for that. Great explanation. I'll go online once I pick it up again. I've got too many games no lol. But I'll be keen to see the messages of cry's for help pop up hehe.

My pleasure, I'm one of those annoying Soulsbourne fans, so I kinda feel like it's my place in life to help people.

I totally get the backlog, I've got so many games to even start. Heck even upgraded my Xbox One X to a Series S, just because a game I've been waiting YEARS for [Scorn] is coming out as an S/X exclusive. I still need to finish Metroid Dread, Hades, Pokemon Shining Pearl, etc.
