I‘m 50 hrs into Horizon Forbidden West and I’m loving it. Love the new combat options/styles. There is something satisfying about sticking your spear in a giant robot, do a backflip from it and shoot an exploding arrow in it.
Widemaw tusks are a pain to collect!

Ahh Yes….I believe it’s the following combination:

O-X-while holding L1 for two seconds with the with left joystick tilted down.

Or maybe it’s R2…I can’t recall exactly.

This is so embarrassing, but I had completely forgotten that I had unlocked that skill until I read this.

Just finished forbidden west on ps5 , ok , lots of pop up and only begins to be fun when you get to fly the storm bird otherwise traversing the world is a chore

Got gran turismo 7 yesterday, so far - amazing 🤩 . Fitting out my Countach has literally bankrupted me 😂

I was playing on my Xbox Series X (Halo, Forza and FS), now I’m back to PS5 with GT7 (which is excellent except I miss some sort of vehicle damage). Awaiting the GTA5 remaster, will check that out in a few days. Too many games, not enough time.

I'm playing Elden Ring & dabbling in a bit of Gran Turismo 7 at the moment, with dashes of Destiny 2 thrown in.

Elden Ring is absolutely fantastic. It's my first ever Souls type game so I've gone in completely blind with absolutely no idea what I'm doing. I'm enjoying getting beaten up by everything and then going back later and destroying it. Have beaten the 2nd boss now and done some more exploring, and I can see myself having a LOT of hours in this game. Started one character and did 10 hours, then two friends bought the game so I restarted and chose a different character. Now 17 hours in on that one. I 100% recommend the game if you're after a challenge, even if you've never played a Souls game before.
+1 Elden Ring x-series.
I've found I cannot afford a cookbook for early Crafting, maybe I should sell some more herbs.
Beautiful arcade quality visuals, lots of satisfaction smashing heads off skeletons.

Very impressed.

thanks

They (Rockstar) released the pricing for GTA-V. From everything I’ve researched, (Most recently ‘Polygon’), this update looks pretty substantial in terms of graphical improvements, lighting and shard rendering, however; I don’t think it’s going to offer the gamer that much more of an experience in terms of additional missions, unless you really want the online gameplay, in which case I don’t care about online elements.

I'm still plugging along with Jedi Fallen Order, but I am losing interest. The story seems decent, but the game play is getting monotonous. As I level up and gain more abilities, it helps a bit, but when it just boils down to how you mash the controller in fights, and then the running sideways, jumping from vine to vine I'm getting a bit bored. I suppose I prefer FPS style games instead of fighting style games. Fighting games require you to hit various combination of keys to execute increasingly complex fighting moves. I guess I'd like to aim, and shoot and deal with difficult enemies that way. I think this is one of the biggest reasons why I resisted playing the game sooner.

As for game universe, it appears you need to visit each world 2x. I'm on my second trip to Kashyyyk and one thing I noticed is that there's really little help to find the path to the no location. I did stumble upon it, but the holo-map was only help in showing me where the objective was. I basically retraced all of my steps through the world until I literally stumbled upon the new location.

Guardians of the Galaxy thanks to gamepass. I am liking the story, but some of the combat is getting really annoying. I am at a part where guys are throwing some sort of grenade, but you are also having to fight some guys hand to hand. And it's like a small lightning grenade that zaps you for a second. You get hit by one, i guarantee you are getting hit by 3 more cause they are constantly lobbing them.

It's just too much crap on the screen.

Recently acquired a Xbox Series X (oh what a journey) with Gamepass. I’m debating whether I should replay the original Halo before Halo Infinite or just jump right in. In the meantime, I’m playing Zombie Army 4. I went into it not expecting much since I’m usually not a huge 3rd person shooter fan but I’m really enjoying it. The levels are relatively short so it’s easy to pickup for a quick play or a longer session. The diversity in weapons/perks keeps the gameplay from feeling stale or repetitive.

I’m 50 hours into Elden Ring and have barely scratched the surface. It’s already turned into my favorite game ever. It’s shockingly good on so many levels.

When I’m not playing it I’m on the ER subreddit lol.

I'm currently playing:

Dying Light 2 on my Series X.

Company Of Heroes on my new 11" iPad Pro.

And I was playing Metroid Dread on my Switch, but I'm really struggling with it :( might go back to Mario Kart for a bit.
Anyone got any tips for Metroid Dread?

So….about that PS5 GTA V update:

Was it worth paying the ~$10.00 for the downloadable PS5 upgrade?

In every way possible, I can’t believe how much more stunning GTAV looks on the PS5 compared to the PS4 disc version. Graphically, it’s not even the same game. And once you play the PS4 version first, then play the upgraded PS5 version with ray tracing, @60 FPS, and the ‘Performance RT mode setting’ on a quality panel TV like my Samsung QLED, you can’t go back and play the PS4 version, because it will look so dated.

The other technical host of improvements, includes greater draws distances showing more detail, vehicle updates, the sound dynamics has been improved in the game (For like explosions, dialogue, ambient noises..ect), The NPC’s have more fluid movement and have more dialogue, there is way more vehicle and pedestrian traffic, giving the game a sense of more fullness, changing the dynamic from day and night cycles.

Below are some screen-pics of the new update:

(If you look at the lighthouse photo, you’ll see like the foam in the water, the spotted clouds and the reflection from the lightHouse in the waves, the Color of the water changes depending where you’re looking at it, these are details that weren’t present before in the PS4 version.)

Props to you dropping money on that old-game. Nothing wants me to San Andreas in 2022. Rockstar has milked that franchise since it's release in 2013.

IMO they should've released a re-master of Red Dead.

they should've released a re-master of Red Dead.
Few things you’re not taking into account:

1.) Who says they’re not releasing a ‘re-master’ at some point? (That’s rhetorical, you don’t have to answer that.)

2.) Keep in mind, RDR2 graphics are considerably upgraded just as they stand over GTAV, because it was also taking advantage of next GEN hardware at that time. So does it really need a remaster this early? I’d say not yet.

3.) You’re also not taking into consideration that Red Dead Redemption 2 was released in late 2018, that game is also like… 13 times the size of the GTAV map. A project like that, would take years for a proper re-master, which was co-developed between multiple Rockstar studios.

4.) GTA 6 is also in development, so I doubt a RDR2 is really a priority at this point, when they’re generating plenty of money alone on the online portion for that game.

I think he was talking about the first Red Dead Redemption, not 2.

Oh….well….uhhh…ummm……that’s….that’s what I meant….the first Red Dead.:D

Good call and you’re correct. I thought they were referencing RDR2. @Fozzybadfeet can disregard.

On that note:

I think if Rockstar really wanted to ‘re-master’ Red Dead, (Which was from 2010), they would have by now. I thought there was a minor graphic update at some point, of course they made the spin off of the Red Dead Nightmare.

My personal thoughts is, the reason they didn’t remaster the first Red Dead, is because they knew that RDR2 was already in pre-production around 2010, and would be released somewhere in 2018 (It was actually delayed like 3 times if I recall), and was in production for the better part of eight years. That’s likely why.

^Yeah, I was referring to RDR lol. I was hoping that was going to be Rockstar's announcement instead of releasing the Trilogy.

But whatever.
