Bad January
Over the past 2 weeks Flight Simulator that been frustratingly buggy on my Series X. This include the game being laggy, buildings not loading quick enough and avionics going blank! Very strange for a game that has been highly stable since I bought it in August.

Good January
I have played "Let's go Pikachu" on the Switch for 2 weeks. It's my first ever Pokemon and turn based game. I didn't expect to like it but I'm really enjoying the variety of pokemons, attacks/defensive moves and items. I enjoy the pace of it in the evenings when I want to kick back with a "slow" game. It's combat but without the stress of aiming or button mashing.

My GF's kids got Pokémon Sword on the switch over Christmas. I'm amazed how similar or near identical it is.

However the similarities makes sense given that all Pokemon games are pretty much based on the cards.

Amazing game. If you start struggling, remember to be patient but also aggression is key. Wear out the enemy’s posture meter.

What a great game.
Two more bosses down: Yamauchi and Oniwa (the one before the snake, and the horse one). Exploring the next area can wait until tomorrow...

Interesting. It’s actually been opposite for me, I’m finding that the overall mechanics of flying the plane is smooth, everything is loading properly (Some sound dynamics is off-kiltered when landing when using the reverse thrusters), the topography looks great, the 3-D renderings are on point, however; I am experiencing more game crashes than ever. For example, I was flying the Airbus A320 and landed in Fort Wayne, Indiana, landed and then crashed again.

One other thing noting too, is even when trying to initially start the application of playing the game, it will crash immediately. I have to reinitiate multiple times before it will successfully take me to the main menu.

I’m also noticing after completing a successful landing, the plane will automatically want to veer left off the runway, which I obviously have to override. At first, I thought maybe it was the joystick controller [Possible bad code], but I am entirely convinced it’s software related that’s triggering it.

There’s definitely a software patch that needs to take place, since the last major one of October I believe.

More recently the game has crashed during approach and landing. Highly annoying when it happens after a 40-90min flight.

I am taking a break from the game until a major update as the game has been buggy for me the past 2-3 weeks.

Well, that was about a fortnight ago, and I've been busy with work, but still managed to progress a bit.

I currently have a choice of six bosses (at least, that I've discovered) and I'm not sure which is going to be easiest!
- The one in the dojo
- The one at the bottom of the well
- The spearman guarding the Moon-View Tower or whatever it was called
- The Headless
- Lady Butterfly
- Snake Eyes, on the way to the Gun Fort

Three of them seem to actually be blocking my progress and the other three appear to just be a source of prayer beads (not necessarily a bad thing!)

Now to figure out which to tackle...

I think Lady Butterfly was the easiest for me out of this crew. The one-armed ninja at the bottom of the well was a vicious b*stard of a fight. As for Snake Eyes, lets just say I flipped off my tv once or twice in my battles with her.

I've progressed a bit more since then.

Saze (in the dojo) was trivial once I found out the trick to him. The others on my list are still alive.

However... I subsequently found and defeated two Long-arm Centipedes, the Shichimen Warrior, the Mist Noble, and a different Snake Eyes (the one in the poison cave). I've also discovered the Corrupted Monk as well as O'Rin (playing the shamisen... interestingly I don't seem to be able to mention her to the guy outside the well even though he was looking for a shamisen player) but I haven't seriously attempted either of them.

GT Sport here, three months straight by now. Before that I spent about six weeks in Driveclub.
I was about to start flirting with ACC but since GT7 is almost here I expect from March onwards that will become my (only) game.

These games are great to let off some steam in short bursts even if you're not a motorsport nerd, wish I had discovered them earlier. Pretty good workout too with a wheel setup. 💪

Death's Door on Series X. Great game with a beautiful soundtrack. It's on Game Pass, too!

Dreamscaper on Series X on gamepass. It's a pretty rouguelite, but until they fixed the loss save bug, I won't pick it up again anytime soon.

Also, reloaded Just Cause 4 to run around and create some mayhem. Love attaching balloons to enemies and see them just go bye-bye. Or rockets and see them fly every which way.

Platinumed Miles Morales couple of days ago, now starting Immortal Fenyx Rising. Didn’t enjoy it the first hour(s), but as I gained some more abilities it became a lot more fun, and it’s growing on me. The game is “narrated” while you play and it reminds me of those two grumpy old guys in the Muppets. Funny stuff.
Finished Immortal Fenyx Rising several weeks ago and started with Horizon Zero Dawn again to get ready for Horizon Forbidden West, and I forgot what a good game it is. It exceeds my memories of it. Sure you can see it’s a game from a previous generation, but that gameplay, story and setting, damn, those Dutch dudes really made one hell of a game. Since I still have some time before Forbidden West, I’m going for the platinum trophy now and I’m almost there. I’m level 60 with all the best gear there is and got everything pimped, makes me wonder if we’ll start from scratch or get to load our previous save file and transfer some stuff…

Halo (all of them, my fiancée wanted to watch)
Alan Wake Remastered (again, fiancée wanted to watch after I platinumed Control)
FFXIV: Endwalker

Also, shooting for a platinum for HZD.

Platinum trophy on Horizon Zero Dawn in the pocket and even had some time so I started Far Cry 6. Love the series so enjoying the game, but Horizon Forbidden West is somewhere in a van on its way to me, so FC6 has been tossed aside and will have to wait until Aloy has conquered the west!

As for FC6, I will be venturing very soon and will give feedback.
Major bummer.

I really wanted to like this game, and I’m a huge fan of the Far Cry series in general, but this one is just way too Arcadish and it’s the first Far Cry I’ve actually ever quit.

Graphically, it’s a stunning looking game, but doesn’t really capture me the way Far Cry 5 did in the ‘Montana’ setting. (Maybe that’s because I’m used to seeing tropical games in the past, this is just another one in that category.)

The protagonist in the game is kind of lifeless, the storyline is very political and never really captured me.

The game plays way too unrefined, and the NPC‘s are overwhelmingly difficult and non-realistic. I just felt a whole sense of emptiness with this Far Cry.

I wasn’t sure if I was the only one I felt this way until I started reading reviews and other viewpoints from various gamers. And their thoughts seem to align with mine. Somebody made the unsupported comment that this was the very first Far Cry that had four Ubisoft studios developing this game, and maybe there was just too many skewed/disconnected interpretations of how this game should play compared to the other versions in the past.

Altogether, I really hope that the next iteration of Far Cry will take a different direction and continue to focus on what made this series so successful from the beginning versus this approach, which seems to be very unsorted.

Almost completed the most western part of the big island and never felt like you did. I’ve been enjoying the game but it will have to wait because of the quote just below;

Horizon Forbidden West looks so good. I find myself stopping just to look at the scenery.

It looks awesome!! I hate the fact that I don’t have a lot of time to game right now. I’ve played for 4-5 hrs now and absolutely love it!

Almost completed the most western part
I did complete that sector, but everything feels and looks the same in this game. I like the idea of the ‘tropics’, but it’s becoming redundant and Montana was a completely fresh setting that we haven’t seen before from Far Cry 5. But to be fair, I’m a very critical gamer that has high expectations and I just feel this piece released by Ubisoft isn’t even close to what Far Cry 5 was, where as FC6 has stripped mechanics, terrible AI and it’s overly political with a semi-intriguing storyline with a boring protagonist. Again, I’m not being negative, it’s just my observations, but I don’t expect others to share everything that I’ve said.

FYI….

There’s some content that I can’t see from other members, because of ‘
applied settings’.
