I've been grinding away in Gran Turismo 7, but was invited to play Fortnite by some friends since there is now a 'no build' mode.

Ugggggh. Lost 11k runes because I couldn't find a point of grace before the fight with Rennala. Still having fun though. :D

Going through Tiny Tina’s. I like it, enjoyable. Have an awful lot on my list to play through though. I have Elden Ring waiting for one.

Elden Ring finally complete. I didn't realise I was so close to the end or I'd have probably 'pushed' sooner!

Final boss down on the second attempt :)

Now that it's complete, I'm allowing myself to Google things. It turns out that I missed an entire optional zone, so that's next on the list!

11k is nothin. Just wait to mid to late game when you need 100-200k to upgrade. Losing them here and there is just part of it all

I’m definitely not amazingly good at this game but I’ve played 80+ hours, I’m around level 165, all my go-to equipment and ashes are at max level. I have all the tools I need, and I’m sure I’ll beat Radogon and friend if I try a few more times.

It’s just that I stopped having fun with it. Not sure why, it’s never happened at such a late stage in any previous game.

Something I noticed really early is that it’s a total throwback game. The way the enemies move back and forth on a set path and never deviate as long as you stay a certain distance away, even if you kill the guy standing next to them. The AI is basically nonexistent. It’s like an old 8-bit game in that regard. Although it’s amazingly beautiful and intricate, the whole world of Elden Ring and everything in it is dead, robotic, and largely unresponsive.
It is very old school in ways. The ai is much improved on the bosses than previous games but enemies are still dumb with things like that. Some enemies are smarter. The crucible knights are one of the smarter ones. Ancient hero’s of zamor have good ai and a lot of the harder enemies. Banished knights in crumbling city will chase you well outside normal range. But yea they need to improve range on enemies so it doesn’t feel so much like a game that they have set boundaries to stay within.
i don’t really think about that stuff since I like to fight things within their range and not try to cheese stuff with the boundaries they are set within. They put more thought into the bosses ai in this game imo but I still like the enemies a lot

Wow, that's impressive!

I guess farming the punks outside of the Church of Elleh won't work anymore when I'm at that level. :D

Still playing Tiny Tina's Wonderland, annoying thing with the game are the endless side missions that keep distracting you lol.

I'm in the middle of Deathloop. It's fun, with sharp, well acted dialogue and a cool 70's vibe...but at this point, I enjoyed the last two games I played, Control and Hitman 3, more.

There is. Specific area to get a lot very easily once you’re towards the end of the game. I don’t think you Need to farm really in this game. All the side stuff to do you’ll be plenty strong with the right weapons and upgrades.

The only time I've been doing it is when I'm close to having the amount I need to level up, but not quite there yet.

There’s consumable runes you can pop to get extra also if you didn’t know. They come in handy to get to upgrade levels.

Playing Sniper Elite 5, and honestly not really enjoying it. The solo campaign seems to have done the thing that all games do when they run out of new ideas - add crafting, for in-game customisation of weapons. Removed from this game are all the anti-personnel mines, aside from the teller mine - replaced with non-lethal noisemakers and a "decoy" that's a helmet on a stick, which seems to have no real gameplay value. There are more types of ammunition, which makes each one less effective as the game designers needed to create reasons for the new bullets.

The distraction rock has been removed, replaced by a whistle, or consumable bottles. This removes a really great gameplay mechanic from SE4 where you could use the rock to destroy lights, and create darkness, without using up ammunition, or alerting guards. Not that you'll miss it terribly, because almost all the destructible lighting is accompanied by non-destructible lighting, that fills in the brightness if you shoot a light source.

Brightness is a real issue i the game, which seems to not handle the XBox's HDR capabilities very well. Night scenes are as bright as day with the game set on minimum brightness. Shadowed areas during day missions are, by contrast, pitch black when you enter them.

Vehicles no longer have explosive fuel tanks, and explosive items in general are less common. Silenced ammunition isn't available until the 4th mission. So the "sneak up and make everything explode" fun type is largely absent.

Overall, it's a great example of adding more stuff in to a game, reducing the freedom and creativity of gameplay options, as everything has very fixed uses.

At double the size of Sniper Elite 4, it's definitely on the candidate list for "getting my storage back" once I've finished the campaign.

Are those the rune arcs? I've also been selling rune things when am close and need to level up.
The golden rune consumables. The ones you sell are the same ones. You can just use them whenever you want to get runes. You don’t have to sell them but you see how much they are worth by selling them.

I managed about half an hour before deleting it. It must be incredibly easy to make these Sniper Elite games - same setting, same gameplay, add or remove a couple of gadgets, slap on some 'kill Hitler' DLC and call it a sequel. The bare minimum.

The thing that really annoys me is the lack of injuries to the bodies. You get these outrageous slow-motion x-ray scenes showing bullets smashing through people, but the bodies afterwards are completely unmarked. It looks really cheap.

to be fair, they're an indy studio, who are punching above their weight. But, SE5 has suffered some big savings measures in order to create budget for the online drop-in co-op etc. Unspawning bodies & car wreckage within minutes, the lighting changes etc.

So after getting the platinum trophy on Horizon Forbidden West, I continued playing Far Cry 6, but for some reason I couldn't get into it. I'm exaggerating but it feels like it has four missions and you have to repeat them in other locations for a billion times...
So I gave up on FC6 for a while, and started with GTA V. Never played it on PS3 and when I wanted to start on the PS4 the news came that a PS5-version was coming, so finally I started with a classic. Feels a little bit dated, but having fun so far. Not going to bother with GTA Online, since my backlog grows faster than I can play games.

Dude, please tell me you downloaded the new remastered version of GTA 5? I mean, I posted some screenshots on here while back, and there’s no comparison in terms of how improved the rendering is, longer draw distances, the world is entirely more immersive, frame rate has drastically improved, etc.

And what’s nice about the ‘digital version’, it loads considerably faster with very little lag in between.

LOL! That is the actual design of Deathloop!
I did enjoy Deathloop though, fun game!

Yes! I bought the PS5-version when it got released and am enjoying the game. I've completed 6.4% according to my quick save, so still a lot to do :-D

You spent time playing Far Cry 6 instead of Elden Ring? o_O

Haven't bought Elden Ring yet and started FC6 even before Elden Ring got released, but then Horizon Forbidden West came along, so played that one first, restarted FC6 but it couldn't entertain me, feels too much like "rinse and repeat", so put it aside to start GTA5 and I'm having fun with that one. Quick save says I've completed 10% now so still a lot to do. But Elden Ring is on my "to buy"-list but waiting for a discount since I know I don't/won't have time to play it for a while.
