Got back into Elden Ring, coop with a friend of mine. Found a huge optional area (something shunning grounds?) that I completely missed on my solo playthrough. Such an amazing game!

Finished my second playthrough of Uncharted 4, found all the treasures! :)

Not sure what to play next. Some options are:

- Silent Hill 2 Remake
- Dead Space Remake
- Red Dead Redemption 2
- Ghost of Tsushima
- The Witcher 3
- Continue ME2 Remake
- Continue Hitman 2
- Continue Far Cry 6
- Continue Skyrim

At my current pace, I can probably pick two for this year! :D

Witcher 3 is so good but it took me SO long to finish it.

I'd probably go with Ghost of Tsushima next!

Started up Far Cry 3 using Geforce Now. I have never played a Far Cry game before, but consensus seems to be that the third one is the best, and I liked the tropical island setting, and thought some mindless shooting would be nice (After just finishing Dredge - Highly recommended!)

It has been both what I wanted, and a lacking a little bit. I think it looks great, especially character/animal animations, and there's some really nice locales to be found if you look for them. It really appears to be an island where people live, and the setting is different compared to most other shooters (Scifi, WW2, etc.).

I think my only major problem with the game is the pacing, but it could be because I approach it from an experienced gamers POV: Farm animal skins to upgrade my inventory as much as possible (I was SO annoyed of being able to carry so few things from the start) --> Explore to find a lot of secrets because that is fun --> Push the mechanics of the game to see what is doable and what is not --> Actually do the story ... Which I didn't care much for at first, because the main character was SO whiney. Interestingly for a FPS, and very positively, there's a clear player character progression in the game as it progresses, which I really like. It surprised me a lot, because that's usually not something you see a lot of. Unfortunately the remaining story so far is mostly slight variants of "Shoot pirates, rescue friend, repeat" which does get dull quickly. At least the story segment cut scenes are really well done, animation, voice work, and setting wise!

But the progression is weird. I had at one point 16 skill points laying around which I couldn't use for anything (Equivalent of about a third of all the skills in the game!), because upgrading skills is locked behind story progression. So I was way ahead of the game, without actually being it, which was weird. And I wish exploration was pushed more, because EVERYTHING you find is just boxes with a bit of money and trinkets you can sell for money. There's not really any sentiment to exploration, unless you want to 100% the game for finding random secrets that doesn't actually gain you anything in-game. At least give me a funky weapon, an over powered skill, access to a new area, etc. Again a progression issue.

At least shooting and driving is really well done and fun, and who can complain about getting a mission to "kill all the rabies infected dogs in the kennel, and oh, you are only allowed to do so with this free RPG-launcher!"?

All good points. I think what you are experiencing is the game showing its age. When the game came out, it was awesome to just have that big island to explore and find things, period. Today, many years and two console generations later, we expect and are used to more.

I absolutely loved the game when it came out. One of my very few platinum trophies. Haven’t played it since though, but I‘ve thought about it.

That's debatable. Far Cry 2 is I think one of the finest video games ever made. The environment is better than FC3's - the fire mechanic is astounding, the setting is more convincing, there's no fast travel. FC3 in more a retreat to the original Far Cry tropical setting.

What FC3 DID have is probably one of the best team deathmatch setups ever. Really well balanced, the support function to revive teammates was perfect, characters stood out against the background so there's no camouflage.

Unfortunately last I looked the multiplayer servers were shut down.

I read that they put so many cool things in that you could easily miss because it makes it that much more special when someone does find them.
FromSoftware is the best because of this. They spend so much time on things that are hidden and they know a majority of people might never see, but if you do happen to stumble across it (an example would be the amazing Ash Lake area of Dark Souls) then you are immensely rewarded.

That was me finding Siofra River. I expected it to be a small area and was so shocked that it wasn't.

Yeah exactly. Siofra River was a huge call-back to Ash Lake and done on an even more immense way. Finding that was absolutely stunning.
Ha! I wouldn't know. After the original Demon's Souls I thought it was done with souls games (not my cup of tea) but Elden Ring lured me back.

Finally picked up The Walking Dead: The Telltale Definitive Series during the sale. Now it's just chilling in my backlog like a reminder of how little free time I actually have lately 😩. Really hoping I can carve out a quiet evening soon and properly get into it. Heard it's an emotional rollercoaster

IT IS

Beat Atomfall (good game that’s worth at least one play through and isn’t very long), now I’m playing Robocop: Rogue City. Developers definitely deserve credit for that one! The details and recreation of the movie are absolutely top notch. The theme song blasting when you first begin the game totally sealed the deal for me

Definitely in my queue!

Pokemon Colosseum on Gamecube. Never had them growing up so thought i'd finally give it a go. Playing on my modded Wii U, almost completed the game and it's good. I'll transfer the save onto an actual GC memory card so I can transfer the Pokemon to the gen 3 GBA games. Going to play XD Gale of Darkness afterwards as well.

Bit annoyed they announced they are coming to the Switch 2 when I was 3/4 the way through Colosseum but still 😅

For Switch, I purchased most of the games in the Atari Recharged series and ended up playing and beating the following...

Missile Command Recharged
Breakout Recharged
- missing one level in Challenge mode
Centipede Recharged - I'm missing 3 levels in the Challenge mode and will likely return, but I have hit a wall in the meantime
Asteroids Recharged
Cavern of Mars Recharged

Still working on the Challenge/Missions mode of these...
Yars Revenge Recharged
Quantum Recharged
Gravitar Recharged

... Overall, the "Recharged treatment" did them very well. The Challenge/Missions modes gives them individual scenarios to make things very interesting, as opposed to the standard and classic, "survive as long as possible while racking up a high score".

.

Before that, I played Into The Breach on Switch. I can see what the hoopla was about, but I took a break from it. I may have to reduce the difficulty from Normal to Easy since it was kicking my butt
