Very slow, but steady progress - get a little further each time with Dark Souls 3. Thank heavens for Phantoms to help me out too.

Where are you? Phantoms?

Just got to the Abyss Watchers - not sure what to do since they don't seem to register an HP loss when I'm hitting them. Maybe I should start using a shield. But so far everything is quite doable - except for these fat tree-giants in the swamp - no idea how to deal with them.

Your further than me. I've just cleared gential swinging tree boss.

Phantoms (good ones / mad ones / bad ones). If your playing online, use your ember you can invite up to 3 Phantoms into the game to help you out. Good phantoms help you unconditionally. Mad phantoms can help you or attack you. Bad Phantoms are attracted when you have a good one fighting on your side and they will attempt to kill you and your helper unless you kill them first.

They have helped me when I have hit a wall.

Crystal Quest!

(too bad I only can play it on my iPhone 4 now, there is no audio on iOS 9.3 and the game is gone from the app store so I guess there is no hope for an update... :( )

How would you compare the overall DS3 experience to Bloodborne?

I seem to be making steadier progress in DS3 than I did with bloodborne.

They are however very similar games obviously. I enjoy the pyromancer skill and it works great with my axe to offer close quarter and distant attacks. I am playing the game more like its bloodborne than other DS3 players I've seen who seem to rely on shield blocking and fierce attacks.

Ok, thx. I don't play online so no idea. Sounds fun!

Pyromancer sounds useful, I got the talent but never really tried it. I two-hand my sword while pushing strenght and agility (?-the rolling/running/hitting one) only.

Btw. How do the rings work? I just equip them and that's it, right? Regardless the finger? Because I got that Pontifs left eye one (where you supposedly gain hp for a successful attack) but never get any hp back. Maybe a bug, really annoying.

Tbh it's not like multiplayer - it's more single player with assist and some of the phantoms are actually just AI and not other players. I'd certainly recommend trying it :)

I just equip rings too regardless of hand/finger.

Wait, I thought in case that I play offline (start the game's "offline-mode") but ember, I'd be open to invasions of other players?! I never embered due to that. But to ember doesn't mean phantoms, right? Not sure I want those in my first playthrough - maybe later in case it gets unbeatable for me.

Seems like Pontiff's Left Eye ring is incredibly less usefull than I thought it would be. Maybe I'll try playing with two straight swords (Raw + Dark Sword <3) instead of one two-handed. Playing as a pyromancer has the downside that I'd have to up my Attunement (? - the blue bar) as it is exactly where I started 45 levels ago. The Endurance (and strength) stat looks the most useful to me. Hit n' roll, what more do you want? :D

I'm on my third playthrough (so I guess... NG++?) of Dark Souls 3 and I have yet to have anyone help me. I play all my Dark Souls as single player both to feel like I did it myself and to get rid of invaders.

I wouldn't want to since I prefer the desolate atmosphere which just gets more intense whe left alone. But I can imagine co-op being nice too - a bit like a modern age Golden Axe probably.

I switched from quality build to pyromancer build. A jack of all trades, master of none, but I like having some ranged combat even though I don't use it much. The spell weapon buffs are handy too. I'm through Ferron Keep/Abyss Watchers and on to Catacombs next.

I generally always play these games offline, as I like to beat the bosses solo no matter how many tries it takes. I don't even summon NPC helpers. I did, however, try co-op for the first time last night to help out other players. Put my summons sign down by Vordt, and ended up getting summoned to Dancer, a boss I haven't even faced yet in my first NG play through. Kind of spoilery to face that boss early, but I ended up having alot of fun co-op and netted quite a bit of souls out of it. So I learned that co-op is a way more enjoyable way to get souls fast vs. farming.

Per DS3 vs Bloodborne. I can honestly say I'm enjoying DS3 way more even though I haven't beat DS3 yet. I prefer the setting and wider selection of weapons/armor/magic, and also love the call backs to DS1. Jury is still out whether I like DS3 better than DS1, I need to finish DS3 first before I make that call.

My Uncharted copy will unlock at midnight. I'm almost done with DS3 new game plus, I'm going through the optional bosses right now with my maxed out great axe. I use the summoning sign all the time because although fun I just can't bother going at a boss 200 times. I think I might make a dex build for multiplayer...I've never been interested in DS multiplayer but I'm going for it this time.

Anybody interested in Overwatch, think I might give it a go...seems very Team Fortress 2 like.

Bless

I was looking at Overwatch, but I've so many MP games that I haven't even played (Star Wars battlefront & PVZ GARDEN WARFARE 2 - being last one) that buying another online game would be futile exercise ...

Uncharted 4. Noticing weird horizontal lines in the visuals though, looks amazing otherwise
