I just opened Forza 6. Sure it's old, but man is it fantastic! Just a magical tour on my backlog of games to get through and a nice stop on a great racing sim.

Forza 6 old? If you want old, get on my level. Currently playing Gran Turismo 4. I'm at 80.1% completion (farther than ive ever gotten before lol)

It's hard to enjoy the quiet moments in U4 and take in the beautiful environments when the PS4 is as loud as an airplane engine. :(

My PS4 isn't that loud thank god. Is yours in a cabinet ? It does get loud enough to hear it but not so much to distract from viewed content.

Yeah the quiet moments in U4 are way too few. Naughty Dog doesn't seem to have grasped that they are the highlights, not the endless waves of nameless mercenaries that ruin every open area.

I bought Dead Island Collection on disc to discover that only the first game is actually included on the disc and you have to use a code in the box to get Riptide on the PSN store.

This means the disc version is worthless for trade in later.

Sneaky baskets

Ok ... So to my surprise I chanced OVERWATCH and turns out it's very good fun, even though it's not the type of game I would normally play, I am enjoying it greatly.

I used the default graphics settings; having no crosshair would drive me insane but I could probably manage with the others turned off.
I couldn't play a FPS without cross hairs, I'm bad enough with cross hairs never mind without :O

I am so bad at FPS shooters but that does look like a fun one even though a million thing are going on the screen for this old man.

I am really enjoying Forza 6. I am not a big racing fan but it came free with the XB I purchased from someone on here and it looks fantastic and when I pump up the surround sound, wow.

I'd like to say that I'm playing the FF12 remaster, but that's a bit tricky when it's still a year away. I have, however, dusted off the PS2 and my copy of IZJS :)

I've gone Monk/Black Mage/White Mage for my "top 3" characters and am still deciding what to do with the others. I'm only up to the Barheim Passage so I still have plenty of time.

It's been a while since I've last played. The graphics have held up fairly well for a 16-year-old machine!

I finished Halo 1 Anniversary. My second time playing Halo 1 - first time was several years ago on PC. Fun but some of the locations can feel repetitive. The Library level...ugh.

I'm going to continue on with Halo 2. Never played the single player, just the multiplayer once at a LAN party.

I'm bad at online FPS because of this old-man's same reasons.

Getting killed online with these FPS's kinda cracks me up... :)

I've been thinking of picking up 2 copies of this for me and the son. Not sure if would be a good intro to FPS for him, but at least I can justify the purchase :)

I'm going to finish my "Halo-a-thon" with Halo 3. I enjoyed Halo 2 more than 1 - better story, better levels. That cliffhanger ending though...I liked it but if I had beaten Halo 2 when it first came out that probably would have made me so mad!

I was at a LAN party the weekend it first released, and several of us were watching a couple of guys play (in co-op, if I recall correctly). That ending disappointed so many of us!

Playing Overwatch competitive mode on PS4. It's a fun game, but without communication matches tend to be bland. It's still a fun game though!

As for mobile gaming, I playing Need for Speed: Most Wanted on my PS Vita. Pretty fun game, and a wonderful time killer for when I'm on the train.

just purchased Doom and Quake on Steam - always goes back to classics...

Yea, I visit them every other month again too. Brilliant games. I just started Rage, whihc I played 2-3 years ago for an hour or two but wasn't too impressed and stopped altogether. Revisiting it now: pretty fun game. The enemies are a bit too bullet spongey for my taste - they take forever to go down and are actually quite mobile and not that easy to hit too. First FPS ever (!) that I'm deliberatingly running past some to reach another save area without ever looking back - and I'm not playing on hardcore either. Anyway having a good time so far.

Also good news re Doom 2016: the add a centered weapon option! That is the final step imo that was missing. No crosshair ever again! :D

Nice...

I have the new Doom on XBox One. Yeah, back in the day, Doom and Quake for consoles never really stacked up, plus I've always thought it weird playing with a controller.

I'm gonna get Doom for PC - I miss the keyboard/mouse combo...

I am currently playing SimCity 2000 for the 400,000,000th time. It seemed to be the best balance between simplicity and complexity. I also randomly tool around with SimLife.

I finished Bayonetta! Awesome, outrageous action game. Reminded me a lot of the Devil May Cry games, the good ones anyway. A Dante/Bayonetta cross over game could be interesting. I definitely need to get Bayonetta 2 at some point. Maybe even dust off the PS2 and replay DMC 1 and 3.

Next up for me is Dark Souls II. Wish me luck...

I fired up my old copy of Wolfenstein new blood and have been playing that for a while. I'll be looking for an alternative FPS that I can buy, but nothing says fun, like shooting a bunch of nazis :p
