Just finished Life is Strange (HIGHLY recommended)

Now I am deciding whether to start one of the below series:
Gears of War
Uncharted
Mass Effect
Gears of War is legendary, especially now that you can get the HD re-release on Xbox One. Good thing, too, is that because its a linear game like Uncharted (and unlike Mass Effect), you can finish in a reasonable amount of time.
[doublepost=1481219443][/doublepost]Finally picked up and started The Witcher 3 (Xbox One). Incredible game. My brain still cannot comprehend the breadth of it. It's CRAZY.

All three are completely different animals.

Mass Effect would be the deepest most emotionally investing experience. Also time-consuming, between 100 and 150 hours for the whole trilogy.

Uncharted is more popcorn action movie, but the stories are incredibly well told and acted. Very entertaining and polished, probably about 15 hours per game.

Never played Gears of War, so I'll let others comment on that.

Mass Effect for my liking is too much movie and not enough game, it's very linear and not a lot of freedom other than in interactions. If you like that it's a great game but personally I found it to be too much.

I would choose Uncharted but the best thing would be to try them out and then decide

Super Mega Baseball: Extra Innings. It was free on Xbox Live and is just a good game.

I stopped playing the Witcher 3 for a few months. I picked it back up again and I'm so lost that I'm going to need to restart it.

I really wish I would have played the prequels because while the lore is interesting I have little idea what is going on.

I haven't played any of the Mass Effect game, but the Uncharted and Gears series are both great.

I just got a PS4 a couple weeks ago and finished Uncharted 4 a few days back. It was AMAZING. I haven't picked up Gears 4 yet, but I probably will some time before the end of the year.

I am leaning towards Gears as I have played Uncharted 1 and 2 back in the day.

Picked up Trials Fusion (with all the DLC) and Trackmania on PS4. All I've played the past few days is them and Pokemon Sun! They're all really addictive.

Finished up Link to the Past last night. Some of those dungeons were a pain. The bosses seemed pretty easy.

Planning to start on Red Dead Redemption next.

Currently playing - and getting my grind back on -

beatmania IIDX Infinitas -
- Not my video.

From the makers of Dance Dance Revolution - speaking of which, I'm getting back into that as well.

These are pretty much the only games I'm really getting seriously back into. I've been playing DDR for about 14 years or so, and Beatmania about 6 months. Incredibly challenging, incredibly gratifying, and just an amazing experience.

That, and a little CoD or Quake III Arena/LIVE here and there.

Previously stated I was going to start playing one of those epic trilogies...instead I usually end up playing Peggle 2 for a couple hours.

**** is addicting!!!!

Playing Destiny: Rise of Iron on PS4.

I started playing during The Taken King expansion(when I bought a PS4), and got absolutely buried in the Lore. Rise of Iron has been pretty excellent so far, and for the next three weeks they've added back Sparrow Racing!

Super fun.

Currently playing Elder Scrolls Online and Star Wars Battlefront DLC Rogue One: Scarif
Overwatch and Battlefield 1 are on hold for the time being.

ESO is better than I remember from the beta, probably because I'm playing on PS4-console with controller instead of PC/Mac, and there are less people running around the starting zones making PvE more immersive.

A couple of gripes. In order to get to PvP, I need to grind through PvE and have played these starter zones a couple of times already in the beta. Also, inventory management is a huge pain in the butt. I've spent more time crafting/selling loot than anything else in the game. Developers made inventory management tough on purpose to encourage you to subscribe to their service, which gives you a crafting bag that helps on inventory a lot. I'm going to try and get by without that.

Otherwise, game is fun, and I'm looking forward to playing more. I'm playing a Breton (Daggerfall Covenent) Dragon Knight Magicka build. If anyone playing ESO on PS4 wants to tackle some Dungeons together, let me know.

New Battlefront DLC is pretty fun too with an interesting jungle map. Like previous DLC, I'm sure I'll get bored after a couple of weeks, then I'll get back to Overwatch and BF1.

Holy Molly, I just realized the new Star Wars movie comes out tomorrow, WOOT! I'll try and see that Sunday I think.

Happy gaming.

Fired up the 360 yesterday to finish my playthrough of Doom 2. Ended up on Trials Evolution, that South Park tower defence game, and Halo 4.

And then back onto Pokemon Sun. Never been this into a game before, let alone a Pokemon one. Very addictive stuff.

Just picked up Deus Ex Mankind Divided saw it was 60% off on PSN for Plus members, not bad.

At first I didn't like it, a couple hours in and I'm really starting to enjoy it. I like the crafting and inventory system and the options of sneaking or not are nice. Makes you stand back and think out how you are going to approach each objective.

I never played the first game but there is a video to get you caught up at the beginning which is nice.

And man it looks good on a PS4 Pro. Between HDR and a higher resolution (not sure how much higher) this game was certainly worth ~25 bucks.

I'm only about 5 hours in at this point but so far I would recommend it.

Finally started the Witcher 3 for real yesterday on Xbox One. Very absorbing, though given its length I feel a tad bit overwhelmed. It's been a while since I got stuck into a long game. Everything I've played in the last 12 months has had short campaigns or is an online FPS game :/

Also playing some Zombies in Spaceland with friends online. At least IW has one redeeming game mode.

Witcher 3 has one of the longest campaigns to any game to date. Brilliant game though.

That feeling of overwhelmed it's what most open world games now present players with from the moment they touch down and frankly it can be a total disservice to the game and player. I have found myself overwhelmed with the likes of FarCry 3, Assassin's Creed Unity & Syndicate, even Forzan Horizon 3 and the older Burnout Paradise.

Heck even the most recent FFXV falls pretty to that too.

The Witcher will let you in and the best way to approach it is to ignore much of the map for the first few hours. Follow the initial story campaign for a couple of hours and if you do centre for side quests keep them in the area / vacinity.

It's a great game and once you've naturally opened up most of the map you will feel very much in control instead of the game developers being in control of you.
