To be fair, rebooting restores performance. So, reboot every 30 minutes and you're golden. How about a one week demo without loss of performance?

This is basically why I haven’t tried MorphOS, I feel like I wouldn’t use it enough to justify the cost. It would be fun to play around with, but I know I would still be using Mac OS way more than MorphOS.And considering how much we used to pay for a Mac OS X or Windows license, it isn't that expensive. It's just that I probably wouldn't use it often enough to justify the price.
I feel they are asking for a lot, given I am grateful for their OS which can run on our PPC macs, still think OS X or even Linux is better option. This is basically why I haven’t tried MorphOS, I feel like I wouldn’t use it enough to justify the cost. For a proper review of an operating system on your own day to day operations, one week IMO is better than a few minutes to get onboard with an unknown operating system.
I am in pure disbelief. Parasite Eve says "Insert Disc 2". I remove my burned Verbatim CD-R from my Playstation for the first time since starting this game from the beginning. I put in my only legit PS1 game Driver. Remove my aluminum foil rod (which presses down the lid sensor button). Insert it again so the PS 1 thinks the lid is closed. Driver starts spinning. Then, Driver starts spinning fast. Swap it immediately with Parasite Eve Disc 2, freshly burned in the Mac mini G4. Before I can even continue with the trick, the Playstation goes ERRR and starts reading the Parasite Eve Disc 2 burned on the Verbatim CD-R! So much easier then the normal swap trick at boot. I'm in the clear and can complete the game now!
What? No CD+G/VCD playback? Yep. Sony made a big deal of its DeeVeeDee playback capability.Does PS2 have the same issue ?
There’s actually VCD add ons (yes multiple different ones) which have hardware decoded VCD capabilities for The PSX but not the PS 2. There are also some for the competing system of the time the Sega Saturn. What? No CD+G/VCD playback? Yep. Sony made a big deal of its DeeVeeDee playback capability.
Cool, I didn't know that. There’s actually VCD add ons (yes multiple different ones) which have hardware decoded VCD capabilities for The PSX
According to Wikipedia only the SCPH-5903 does VCD playback. My theory is budget, CD tech was still kinda expensive when the PSX was released in 94 so a hardware accelerated MPEG-1 chip was the first thing to be cut if it was planned.
Python still working at all is amazing on PowerPC, unlike most other things like rust... Python 3.6 and earlier compile no problem even for 10.3.9, but with patches you can indeed get near the latest version.Built a ton of Macports, fixed a small bug with Python 3.9, fired up Logic and got lost in the sound.
I was visiting Windows 98 just around the time when it was hot but I think it was, and they almost cooperated with Apple too. When I got back to Mac, it was already early Intel, so I just briefly missed Audion, only to discover it almost 20 years later. Here is the story of Audion, if you're interested. Was Audion popular back then? Like, WinAmp on Windows?
First off, amazing work! I love seeing people do this sorta thing for PPC Macs.Macintosh Repository once I have a number that constitutes as a pack.

Secondly, may I recommend uploading to the Macintosh Garden instead? You of course are free to upload wherever you want, but the Repository has generally been rather unethical in their practices and there have been reports coming out about the owner of the Repository being abusive to users. So supporting the Garden as opposed to the Repository would help stop this sort of behavior in the community.![]()
Sounds good, I have a few Reddit posts that were being sent around a while back with some screenshots from conversations with the owner.Just want to keep them alive!
Oh. Well that's a bit worrying; On one hand, I'm cautious about blindly following hearsay when I don't have personal experience or proof to support the claims, but on the other hand, I do want to have a nice vintage Mac community just like everyone else. If you'd like to share any practicalities such as forum posts etc. to enlighten me, please DM me.
It's just that the Cube existed for such a short time that not that many exist, therefore they are hard to get, and therefore very expensive for what is essentially a novel hobby now.Interesting... since I've joined MR, following the PPC forums, I am yet to see a member running a G4 Cube. The Cube is not popular here? IMO I thought that the Cube is one of the most beautiful Macs...
