I have an XR and an SE. Both faultless, if they offer a nice smallest design of the up-coming line up I may upgrade but as time goes on, having the latest and greatest isn’t something that bothers me anymore.

The screen quality of the XR is inferior to any of the Plus sized phones and all of Apples OLED screens rip my eyeballs out of my head due to high frequency flickering. Since it's the newer OSes that ultimately cripples all iphones- leading people to buy a new iPhone, I've kept my trusty iPhone 6 Plus on iOS 9.3.5 and it's just as fast (or slow) as the day I got it new over 4 years ago. Only thing that'll pry my 6 plus out of my hands is it bricking or a major component fails. I'm curious how long it'll last.

I haven't downloaded or updated any apps in a couple years and have zero desire to do so. Don't need any new apps (and most currently available in the App Store won't run on iOS 9 anymore for no good reason anyway).

So yeah, I'm apple's nightmare customer. I'm unwilling by principle to get on their hamster wheel and play their churn & waste game. All I know is when I finally have to get a new iPhone in a few more years when this one croaks, it will kick ass over this 6 plus. So that day will be fun - whenever it comes. I have yet to see a worthy upgrade from the Plus sized LCD phones. The Max is definitely not it.

I suppose if I waited long enough, the ideal iPhone might be designed, but like the new Mac Pro, it'll probably be way out of my price range by then bordering on the absurd.

iPhone 7. Possibly upgrade to the 8 for storage sake. I am not a fan of the huge form factor of the x series.

XS Max and won’t be upgrading until next year/5G/redesign/USB-C Implementation - my next iPhone needs to have all those things, before I upgrade.

I seriously hope the XS Max does not become like this in the next year. Then again I wonder if the iPhone 11 range will even upgrade the RAM to 6GB? Maybe they’ll stay 4GB RAM.

I'd be VERY SURPRISED if they updated the RAM.

Let me ask, just to satisfy my curiosity. And yes, my question is subjective but I'm soliciting opinions anyway lol!!!

Do to guys think I'd be happy with an One Plus 7 Pro, and iPad Pro as opposed to Xs Max and 2017 Macbook Air!?

Historically, I've always said an Android and iPad are the best combination. Don't know if I believe this necessarily anymore, but I think there's still some validity there.

I think the iPad would be superior for beat-making in Garage Band vs the MacBook!? However, I don't like some of the workarounds you have to do to get the iPad to function like a Mac.

What I do know is that there will be either or, I'm not buying a iPad Pro and a Mac. Makes no sense to me. So anyway, I'd be taking like a $600 hit by moving to One Plus 7 Pro, but part of me wants to be reckless... Go figure...

The practical side will probably win out, and I'll end up keeping my 256GB Xs Max and and get a 2017 MBA.

Thoughts!?

I have the XS Max. I have always upgraded my iPhone either every year or every 2 years. I won’t be upgrading this year if the mock up iPhone I’ve been seeing is truly the 1 that will be available. Don’t like the way it looks so far so I’ll keep my XS for another year or until they look a little better. Never thought I would feel this way. 1st time for everything I guess!

As long as my beautiful iPhone x continues to be the amazing phone it is, I do not plan on getting another. It is also almost paid off. I never could bring myself to "upgrade" when I saw no need to change and start over.

Launch day 8 Plus user. Was an annual launch day upgrader but not a big fan of the new design. I don’t like the narrow width of the X/XS so if I do upgrade it’ll be to the largest size. I don’t use tablets and rarely my MacBook as my phone handles 99% of what I do.

I’ll decide after seeing what the new camera can do. I’ve already held on to the 8 Plus a year longer than I anticipated so it likely won’t take much to sway me.

IPhone 6.
Out of necessity, I may go for a discounted XS once the iPhone 11 is out.
Otherwise I’ll wait until an iPhone with a true edge-to-edge display.
Hopefully I won’t have to wait till iPhone 15 for that.

Currently have a 6S Plus on iOS 13 Beta. Upgraded the battery months ago and working fine, but want more than 128GBs and a telephoto lens. The new version of the XR should be fine for me and I won’t feel (too) guilty when I upgrade again in 2020 for 5G.

Silver Xs 64
New launch day phone every year crew. Vicious cycle. May go with a Max this year, dunno.

Max.....will trade for Note 10 Plus due to inability to permanently clear old notifications.

X....Depends...I'd trade in for compelling processor/memory/camera updates. We'll see in about a month!

7 Plus 128gb.

Maybe, we'll see. Since we already know 2019 is looking lackluster physically, they're gonna have to really up their game with the internals to wow me.

I'm talking
- highly improved cameras that matches the Pixel or better
- 6–8GB RAM
- at least 3200–3500 mAh battery in the regular 11
- faster, newer Face ID
- 128gb base or $50 increment to get it, a la XR. None of the 64 to 256gb $150 BS.

These aren't even insane demanding wishes either. These are in line with any iPhone S upgrade you would expect. There's no reason at all why they can't pull this off other than to nickel and dime.

128GB XR currently. Honestly no reason to upgrade despite doing so every year. Phone pricing is just too much to get rid of the phone a year later. I'll probably hold off until 2020 at the earliest.

I have the iPhone X and plan to be keeping it for a while unless something happens to it. Noticeably cheaper than the iPhone XS and I have used those and don’t find much difference. Not much point in spending all that extra money I’d say

i'm nearing the 12 month mark into IUP on my XS Max. i'll be eligible to upgrade to the new iPhone comes Sept, but as of right now i'm leaning toward hold on to the XS Max and wait for the 5G iPhone next fall. by then my XS Max will be paid off and can be pass down to a family member or sell it for around $500.

8 plus for me and no plans to upgrade. I think I will wait till the 2020 models and wait for a 5g phone from Apple.

Same boat here - 8+ that is paid off. I just can't see enough reason to upgrade and I'm not looking for a $55-$65/mo payment at the moment...Now, my original iPad Air on the other hand? That baby's getting an upgrade.....

Rockin' the 8+ since launch day it's an awesome device in perfect shape, but honestly I'm getting a little board of it and I envy the XS Max every time I see one. My daughter is in need of a new phone and I'd rather upgrade mine and hand her my 8+, but from the rumors out there I would prefer to hold out until the 2020 iPhone is released. Maybe I'll just get a refurbished X for a year as a stop gap... We'll see in about a month if the upgrades are enough to sway me to this years phone.

I'm still rocking my day 1 iPhone X. I just got a new battery in it and I'm not sure if I'll upgrade this year because it's still all I really need. I suppose we will see what the iPhone 11 brings about until I fully decide.
