Have we actually had confirmation the 2019 iPhone will not have 5G?

I would be surprised if Apple don’t pull this out at the WWDC

Have an iPhone SE.

Went from a Nokia Lumia 1020 (Windows Phone fanboy checking in), to a iPhone 7 Plus (had it for a couple days, hated the big size), to an iPhone SE (freaking loved it), then to an iPhone X (sexy phone but still too big and overkill for my needs), then back to a 128GB iPhone SE.

Absolutely love this phone. Will only upgrade if Apple makes a "small" phone again. Fingers crossed the 5.4" rumoured 2020 iPhone happens.

5G won’t be here for 2019 for the iPhone, 2020 is the most obvious, Given its transition with the modems.

XR, bought new last December ... I hope to get 5 years out of it. (This is my first iPhone, have always used Androids but I'm never ever going back, and I've never liked a phone so much. And I don't have to have newest and shiniest, I just want it to "work.")

I’m on my 8 plus, I can’t say goodbye yet to the home button and or touch ID. I might upgrade next year if rumours where to come true about TOF in cameras and onscreen touchID with FaceID. No matter the price, I get it cheaper from my carrier. My monthly pay for my 8 plus would only cost me half the original price when I complete my contract.

Also, I have my $6 insurance, so if this phone is no longer usable, I’ll just pay the £90 deductible and I’ll get a new one lol

iPhone 6S Plus recently changed the battery, No desire to upgrade. Nothing exciting in the current lineup.

Good lord. What a statement. Millions and millions of users around the world are using non-iPhone devices without being hacked. I hope you don't believe Tim's "what happens on your iPhone stays on your iPhone" false marketing.
Correct androids are more popular around the world...

Just want to know for those who upgrade every year or2, do you change your computer every years? At this point I just don’t understand why someone want a new phone so fast when current ones are overpowered and still will be very good years from now.

I’m probably an outlier, but personally, I value my phone far more than I value a desktop or laptop. I spend 8-10 hours a day on a laptop for work, so if I need to do anything outside of that, I prefer using my phone and it can handle 90% or more of my computing needs.

As to the question on why upgrade every year, honestly it boils down to me simply wanting to. I can’t justify it based on specs, features or functionality. I like having the most current one every year, I have the cash to do so, so I do it. Maybe one day I’ll get tired of it, but that likely won’t be this year.

That’s probably not the most satisfying answer, but that’s my answer. :)

I have an 8 Plus. Probably not upgrading. Just like last year, it doesn't sound like this year is offering anything that makes it worthwhile. All the rumours suggests that the 2020 model will be a significant upgrade. My 8 Plus can definitely fulfill my needs for another year.

I have a 128gb iPhone 7. The battery is 99% health - I'll keep this phone until it dies or stops getting iOS updates. The only modern feature that would be nice to have is the wireless charging, but I'm not going to upgrade just for that.

Agreed. How I look at it too.

i agree i have very clear what i want i know the notch is NOT for me so i will not buy any of the new models but if i had money and a lot i would definitely be updated
I love phones and i would definitely

Currently have an X. Been meaning to upgrade but so far I haven't found a reason to HAVE to.

Would like to upgrade this year, but that depends on what kind of features will be found in the new iPhone.

If I could swing it, I think I would prefer to wait til 2020. I always did prefer the "S" cycle and 2020 should have a lot of new technologies that will be coming online as mainstream...such as 5G.
