In a coffee shop.

Yum.

Tonight, ramen noodles in what was supposed to be miso soup, - it started out as the er, chicken - stock, with miso paste in which I had parboiled potatoes for yesterday's evening meal (parboiled potatoes, then fished out of their stock and sautéed with what were slowly sautéed caramalised onions, and served with organic free range sautéed eggs), with diced pak choi and French onions, but miso soup that somehow, inexplicably, got spiced up (Tom Yum and fish sauce among the additional culprits).

Been trying to emulate the broth from our favorite Shabushabu (hotpot) place.

All day simmered lemongrass from the yard , with ginger, seaweed, and homemade chicken stock.

Blanched thin cut beef, udon noodles, veggies, shimeji mushrooms, with ponzu, and sesame dipping sauces.

Tasted amazing.

That looks so delicious that it could only be classed as what one of my young cousins would describe - in approving tones - as "positively evil".

Decided to make an omelet tonight. Sun-dried tomatoes, feta, and sausage. Wonderful!

(Shot on 12 Pro Max ;)
You need the Waffle House burner under that pan, then it would be wonderful. ;)

In case you are not familiar, they have a dedicated "fire hole" that the little omelet pan waits on. Then when ordered they turn on something and super blue flames start shooting up and the pan is heated and used, probably within 3 minutes everything is done. Comes out puffy and tender and buttery every time. The only problem is you don't have your cool sausage and tomatoes :(.

Some consumer burners go pretty hot these days. Mine hits 21,000 btus.

Still no where near as hot as a restaurant, because consumer range hoods cannot keep up with that much heat/smoke.

Is it good? I used to like Marie Calanders back in the day but now they are horrible.
To be honest, chicken pot pie is not something I grew up eating so I’m not a very good judge.

It was tasty. A little bland, but it tasted alright. Crust was good.

We are trying to use up the harvest of tomatoes so elbow Mac with tomatoes, Arugula, basil, peppers and some cheeses for dinner tonight.
Basically It is a rustic pasta bake type thing, the sauce is pureed grape and cherry type tomatoes which is fresh and strained and some roasted peppers and garlic etc.... all mixed up with the cooked pasta and put atop the arugula and feta layer and then all baked.
