At the moment, I'm watching 1951 "Queen of Outer Space", starring Zsa Zsa Gabor!

This gives "Plan Nine From Outer Space" a run for it's money as worst film ever made. "Plan Nine..." still wins. Ed Wood, Jr. is still a director of superlative incompetence - but you gotta love him.:D

Last night I rewatched Phone Booth with Colin Farrell, Kiefer Sutherland, and Forest Whitaker. Wow, that movie is 10 years old so I hadn't seen it since it first came out. What a great flick. I remembered enjoying it the first time, but after watching it a second time I have to say it is really a great drama.

A few nights ago I watched the 3rd installment of the Paradise Lost doc...Purgatory, which is the final chapter in the saga of the West Memphis Three...interesting insight into the final few years of the fight and their eventual release. However, there are really, really graphic images in this one (I don't remember pictures of the children in the previous two) - I checked on my kids 3 or 4 times while I was watching it.

The wife and I had a date night this past weekend and saw "Man on a Ledge". It's a good flick. Lots of action, some suspense, a good mix of humor, and of course drama. A fun popcorn movie in my opinion. :)

I just saw "The Bucket List “lately, another Morgan Freeman success. Port Nicholson always supports his own, amazing professional.

I've seen a few in the last month.

The Iron Lady: Better than I expected. I've never been a big fan of Meryl Streep... but her performance in this is uncannily good - and worth the price of entrance. Jim Broadbent is fantastic as Dennis (and gets more screen time than you would expect - a very effective device to give him the narrator's role), and Olivia Colman (from Peep Show) has the vacuous Carol Thatcher nailed.

The film has been criticised from all sides. It's not the definitive political commentary some were expecting... it's more fictionalised. Works well as a film I thought; best to leave political baggage at the door.

Shame: Michael Fassbender as a sex addict.

This film has had some fantastic reviews, which I think are unwarranted. An interesting performance from Fassbender - and some stylish cinematography - but there's not much in the way of character development or 'message'. Over long, even at just 101 minutes.

Coriolanus: Ralph Fiennes as the brutal Roman general, bent on bloody mayhem.

Fantastic film. Fiennes plays bad guys like noone else, and of course the Bard can be relied on for a damn good revenge story. Fantastic performances from both Fiennes and Redgrave, with the Serbian location a very believable backdrop for this modern conflict. The language works well... original Shakespearian dialogue, but truncated to fit the format.

Down sides... it's not WS's greatest play, and it does run out of steam towards the end. The film is low budget and it shows in places. Still absolutely worth seeing though.

Agree completely that it is not one of WS's better plays, - and Coriolanus is not an especially sympathetic lead character - which is why I have held off watching this movie adaptation.......however, your comments have made me think about taking a look at it. Likewise your observations on The Iron Lady.

If you like your Shakespearian stuff then do see it. Nice to see John Snow reading the TV news in Iambic Pentameter too! :D

Last night I watched "Larry Crowne."

The pacing felt a little slow, and some parts seemed disjointed. It wasn't great, but I thought it was worth watching.

I watched Battle of Los Angeles on Netflix streaming before it expired. I wasn't expecting much but at least it was a blockbuster in the theaters. How wrong I was... It turns out that the movie I was thinking about was Battle: Los Angeles and that Battle of Los Angeles was made by the syfy channel as a blatant rip off of the real movie name. I'll watch almost any movie and I usually enjoy most but this has to be the worst movie I ever watched in my life. Only watch this film if you want to see the worst movie ever.

On my list to rent.

Recently saw One For The Money (Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich). My wife has read them all. It was watchable.

We watched Real Steel last night. I recommend it. Good family/kids movie especially if you have an 11 year old around the house. :)

Just watched mission impossible 4 last night, its a good movie even imdb agrees with a rating of 7.7/10

Watched Transformers: Dark of the Moon before.

We watched it tonight (saw it originally in the theater). What strikes me about this movie is that dispite a good story, it drags at times compared to its predecessors, however, the cinematography and CGI are pretty incredible.

i had to watch "Fiddler on the Roof" today for one of my classes. that was quite a chore but i suppose it was better than "The Ten Commandments"

Just watched The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift

Decent movie (having watched it on cable). I'm a big fan of the Fast and Furious franchise and an even bigger fan of how ridiculous the movies are. Which is probably why I liked Fast 5 so much.
