how do you know that?
I am only speculating, of course. Can you imagine getting out of bed for the 100,000th time? Our psyches are not set up for that. Life would have to be very stimulating to keep a person interested for that long. And it would just be the beginning.

And all that harp music! Once in a while, maybe that would be ok but not every single day.

i'm guessing we'll all find out one day.
1 infinite loop - that's an address of a company i think.
there was an old fella back in the 1930's who used to go around the streets of sydney, australia writing a single word on the footpath - Eternity.
funny thing is, he did it for almost 40 years and very very few ever saw him do it.
he musta known something … …
Arthur Stace was his name.
perhaps he'd found that one note all the other musicians are searching for

There was someone in my neighborhood who would run around looking for wet cement so he could tag "KOIN" on it. I've seen probably 50 just in my immediate space. Very busy boy.

Well life's what you make of it. This world remains to be a very big place for the adventurous and our time is all too limited to take it all in...

You mention it. I have to watch it (again)…

Atomic Blond (2017) is one of the best modern spy thrillers ever made. Berlin, when The Wall came down, 1989 with great music. An agent list both sides want, especially the name of a top double agent, floating around East Berlin, the East Berlin Head Station Agent gone “native“ (MacAvoy), agent Broughton (Theron) tasked to retrieve the list. Incredibly this got an only 64% audience review. I have less respect for audiences. :) Charlize Theron, James MacAvoy, and cast are all physical, all perfect.

The story is top notch, misdirection throughout. The fight sequences are unsurpassed, while bleeding into over the top, maintaining a feeling and looking freaking amazingly realistic, thrilling, especially the apartment stairwell sequence.

My definition of over the top? When humans take hits that to me look like they would normally end the fight, but they keep going. Top industry stunt actors painstakingly mapped out fight sequences using technique which made every contact look, feel, have weight and feel real. Every muscle in Theron’s body seems to be exerting brutal force when she strikes out. This is a special kind of physical acting. The ending is not a let down either. :)

It works as the film doesn't take itself overly seriously, being self aware. All for the better as it adds up to great entertainment with a kick ass sound track direct from the 80's...:)

Booting up Atomic Blonde on the media server as we speak

AB spoils you. There are movies with fight sequences and I always compare them to this standard. It’s quite often that you see fights where the participants look like they are just going through the motions, and it does not feel real. The From Russia from Love Train fight scene was my first, and it impressed me. Daniel Craig’s, Bond fight scenes were top notch, but I venture to say that no movie I’ve seen out does the ferocity of AB’s fight sequences, which are unsurpassed, in your face, up close and brutal with a flying cam, and what looks like one shot sequences to boot. I don’t demand agreement. :D

The comparison to Bond isn't lost on me by any means. Atomic Blonde is a different dish from the same menu and a very good one at that...

Ya certainly have my agreement - AB left me feeling badly beaten up just from watching it!!

The daniel craig Bond scene with the bottomless chair and the swinging rope had me feeling nauseous - but thats a different kettle of fish.

Our psyches synched to a mortal brain with a 100 year biological life span are not. :)

Just watched The Night Stalker. A TV movie that was a precursor to the TV series. It is a 1970’s made-for-TV horror movie about a serial killer that turn out to be a vampire. The movie by itself was good (entertaining) but wasn’t great. But having been made in 1972 and using Las Vegas as the backdrop, makes it much more fun to watch in 2023.
