Meg is dumb fun, Meg 2 more so, haven’t seen it before, I haven‘t seen the latest Mission Impossible but had to add it to my collection as I enjoy the films, and I wasn’t disappointed it’s excellent, I love how they worked that bike stunt into the films story.
And the best Spider Man on Netflix? Gotta give that a watch.

So I'll admit to having never seen ANY Mission Impossible movie. Is it worth going back to the beginning and watching them all?

As for what I'm watching, I've been going through the Star Trek TNG 4k collection. Watched Generations and First Contact. Both look great and hold up well for me (I do like Generations more than most people seem to). I'm intrigued to revisit Insurrection and Nemesis, as both are among my least favorite Trek movies but it's been awhile since I last watched them.

Also adding both Meg movies to my watch list...they seem to be right up my alley.

I'd say that MI-1 depends on whether you like Brian DePalma (and aren't a fan of Emmanuelle Béart because she is completely and utterly wasted in this movie) and MI-2 depends on if you like John Woo's Hollywood work (MI-2 is closer to Face/Off than to The Killer).

I'd say yes, you can see how the films and character developed, and the stunts just get crazier and crazier as they go... Most of them are done for real too so no CGI. Like Bond films it makes for a better film in the end.

The Fourth Protocol (1987)

A well aged Cold War thriller that doesn't disappoint. Based on Frederick Forsyth's novel of the same name, not a direct adaptation a good watch all the same.

saw the movie, read the book...played the game on an Amstrad PCW - still didn't know wot the heck I was doing!!!
but yeah - re-watched that last year..still rather intriguing.

Exciting thriller with top-notch actors and excellent direction...

..and I didn't see that little factor coming in the ending..who would have thought a french custom would do that??
(erm...the author ?)

Was such an excellent movie back in the day of cinema.. and also taught crims how to get a false passport..back then...so definitely had a 'real' factor.

..and the remake with brucey..well just not the same story.

wow brings back memories.
didn't the soda machine flood the entire bus?
the actors were soaked and chin deep in soda!
I remember lots of soda somewhere. I haven't seen it since it came out years ago. My favorite was when he was trying to slow down and called out "Flags of all nations!!" and then little flags popped up on the top of the bus. I think of that when I see the flag emojis on my phone. :)

yes, the flags!
we saw the premiere and would have turned that off be we only had 5 other TV stations....
that was a farce, I should try to watch that again!

My wife who was on a plane yesterday reports the last Indiana Jones movie, Dial of Destiny was better than the previous one (Crystal Skull) we both disliked. 🤔 I was always going to watch it when it hits Disney +.

Also the last movie for Indiana Jones, the franschise could continue because we know Hollywood. All speculation:

…maybe the archeologist Helena Shaw?
…hard to replace Harrison Ford.
…makes you wonder when they will try to push the first AI creation of an existing actor? 🤔 (not mentioned in link.)

Haven't seen the new one yet either and like you, I am waiting for it to hit one of the streaming services... ala Disney+.

I would be happy if they just end it here and call it a day. They can always do another movie along the same premises, heck even the same universe, but don't call it Indiana Jones.
