I always liked that film. It had something in it to offend everybody. A totally non-biased all-inclusive offender.
Bottom image is The Iron Giant.Ready Player One (2018)- SciFi. A grim future where many people spend a lot of time in the largest virtual reality game world. There is a contest in this game world, created by the desceased owner, the ultimate game which if won, will award ownership of this trillion dollar enterprise to whoever can find the clues and accomplish the goals. It’s average citizen players against an evil corporate owner.
I give it a solid “C” because the story execution at times was somewhere between messy and convenient, some of the sequences seemed too slick to me, and the CGI action was too animated in appearance and cluttered*, although I appreciated the nods to popular cinematic franchises and there is a race early in the story I could get into.
* For a good comparison, watch Alita, Battle Angel if you want to see a recent pinacle of portraying a cluttered virtual urban environment, incorporating CGI, while keeping everything crisp. That is a super, although unfinished story, hoping for the needed sequel. 🤔
Well, the Iron Giant is featured in Ready Player 1.Bottom image is The Iron Giant.
mmmm.... I've not seen RP1 So if you're referring to that film I've no idea... maybe?Well, the Iron Giant is featured in Ready Player 1.I searched online for Ready Player 1 images, and this popped up among others and looks like the scene from the climatic confrontation in that movie, unless I messed up? 🤔
The Iron Giant and characters from multiple other movies and computer games appear in the movie. They are in VR scenes and are avatars of other characters. Probably one of the things I found most entertaining about Ready Player One.Well, the Iron Giant is featured in Ready Player 1.I searched online for Ready Player 1 images, and this popped up among others and looks like the scene from the climatic confrontation in that movie, unless I messed up? 🤔

Seriously... he made me shudder... lol.No Country For Old Men- A Character that actually scared me. 😯
Agreed. But there was some competition. I would consider all* of the MechaGodzilla movies to be Transformer-like VS Godzilla-like movies tooPacific Rim 2013)- Some might call this Transformers vs Godzilla, but this would be the best Transformer-like VS Godzilla-like movie.
This shows how ignorant I continue to be about Godzilla as someone who likes the 1998 stomp around NYC version.Agreed. But there was some competition. I would consider all* of the MechaGodzilla movies to be Transformer-like VS Godzilla-like movies too
* This includes (but not limited to):
Godzilla vs Mechagodilla
Terror of Mechagodzilla
Godzilla vs Mechagodilla II
Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla
Godzilla Tokyo SOS
Godzilla vs Kong
Good watch for the kiddies, personally meh...Pacific Rim 2013)- Some might call this Transformers vs Godzilla, but this would be the best Transformer-like VS Godzilla-like movie. It’s better than authentic Godzilla movies. The story is coherent and the action is nicely correagraphed, great CGI and cinematography with some inserted humor.
Oh, only one complaint, the main theme rift da, da,da, duh, duh, duh, was played excessively. It’s in my head now.
I read the sequel is not so good. Anyone see it and can recommend it?
I really liked this one back in the day. Not sure how well it's aged though...The Hunger (1983)

Deeply into modding VTMB at the moment, so a little inspiration never hurts...

Well being the operative word...I really liked this one back in the day. Not sure how well it's aged though...
I really liked this one too!Love and Monsters (2020)- Excellent! About the love of a young man with minimal survival skills, who decides to travel 80 miles though dangerous territory in California to reunite with his teen girl friend. She was a teen when he last saw her 7 years prior, during the advent of the large, mutated, dangerous critters apocalypse that destroyed civilization.

Still loved him in Men in Black.
"No, ma'am. We at the FBI do not have a sense of humor we're aware of."
