I just watched the brad Pitt movie allied from 2016 which was pretty good. I must admit I struggle with new movies as their doesn't seem to be as much good stuff coming out these days. I remember there was usually a good movie released every month but now it seems to be better quality on TV shows and mini series these days.

That does seem to be the case in my view as well. I saw Oppenheimer in cinema - which benefited from the screen and massive sound. On the other hand I saw an Italian-Senegal film called "Io Capitan" in a art cinema dealing with illegal migration to Europe which one does not see on your Netflix/Paramount etc.

I've got a theory that people don't have the attention spans for movies anymore. I noticed a section on Netflix called 75 minute movies which maybe proves I'm right?

3/5

Not a bad film at all...

If you wiki Moe Berg you'll get an eye opening read...

Just saw Oppenheimer.

I liked it, though the quick cuts and time jumps can be a bit jarring. Robert Downey Jr was remarkable in his "old guy" makeup.o
i just watched it last night and it was good but I feel like it’s been hyped up too much which lead me to expect to much. Loads of reviewers calling it the best of film of the year and even the century.

I thought it was too long. I was also surprised they didn’t show images of the victims after the bombing. I’m old enough to have been taught and seen them in school but not sure if they still do that for young people today?

Well, I suppose the focus was on Oppenheimer himself, and recall during the rally after the "success" of the bomb:

When Oppenheimer addressed the crowd of workers on the Manhattan project you saw a flash, he stepped on a completely burnt corpse on the ground and saw a guy throwing up outside the tent....all in his imagination and perhaps the guy was just duink but we know what radiation sickness does

Yes, my thoughts too. It was a biopic about Oppenheimer, not really about the bomb.

Oblivion (2013)- Good post apocalyptic movie after aliens attack the Earth with Tom Cruise, Morgan Freeman and Olga Kurylenko. It keeps you guessing. :) Although it got poor Rotten Tomato reviews. 🤔

Better than the average Tom Cruise vehicle; Technically well done, story is meh & fails to engage. The supporting actors do the heavy lifting while Cruise is on autopilot being there just for the paycheck...

As much as I like & enjoy the SciFi genre Oblivion is not a film I'll revisit as it's fundamentally boring & predictable in nature...

Yeah, I've tried to watch this one several times and never made it through.

To each his own, the twists and reveal satisfied me. I’ll just have to disagree with you on this title. :)

Ok, finally got around to watching The Avengers: Endgame.

Which is odd because I bought a long time ago and I thought I viewed it back then... not bad.

Incredibly long film though...
