Good luck streaming this one, it's a Ken Russell film. Has to be said Kathleen Turner at her best... Has a certain sense of humour...

You know what I miss, those fun/goofy movies from the 70s/80s

I just saw on YT the opening scene of the Cannonball run. These are just plain fluff movies where you can see the actors having as much fun making the movie as it is watching.

We really don't see this any more, a movie full of stars, who do something just for the fun of it

Firm favourite will never leave the media server, simply a classic...

I loved this movie in my youth. Thought it was filmed in South America for a while. ;)

The sequel The Creature Walks Among Us was not as good but watchable. I saw all of these on TV for my first viewing.

Got a big AV setup? Watch this and turn it up! Just make sure no neighbours are in first..

A bit of a B movie aspect to it but damn it’s one helluva monster flick! On Netflix right now, the effects are stunning and truly truly embarrass Hollywood, this film cost between 10 to 15 million dollars!!!!!!!!!!!! The director won’t say how much exactly but confirmed it is between those figures If you watch it you will swear it cost more like 80 million or more, astounding film for the budget.

EDIT: ah I see I’m not the first to post about this one, but just watch it if your into monster flicks, or even like Jurassic Park. I’ve been meaning to see it for a while and am so glad it’s on Netflix now.

Inside Out 2 (2024) is great! Do not expect a happy movie as the first one was. This sequel deals with the internal turmoil - mostly anxiety - of teenagers (esp. girls) in a very delicate, intricate way.

Considering that I am reading The Anxious Generation by Jonathan Haidt (same author of “The Coddling of the American Mind”, a masterpiece), this movie really hit me.

( @Scepticalscribe I think you would love the book I mentioned ).

2010 - The Year We Make Contact (1984)- This is an excellent sequel to 2001 A Space Odyssey. The caveat is that you are vested in the first movie. I’ll admit that when I first watched 2001 (1968) as a 15 year old, I was very disappointed , not expecting a cerebral space story. This is better in some ways because it avoids the psychedelic imagery of the original as an incredible journey takes place (in the original movie). The US/Russia tension during the Cold War adds much interest for anyone who lived through it.

One of my all-time favorites. Story still holds up. Special effects still hold up. Plenty of awe, and great cast/performances.

This is the kind of Godzilla/Monster movie I like. No "friends of children everywhere," like the Godzilla movies of the 60s and 70s. This Godzilla came to Tokyo to chew bubblegum and kick rear end. And he's all out of bubblegum :D

You just inspired me to watch that tonight. I think I saw it a few decades ago.
