Watched “Kodachrome” last night.
Saw the trailer, decided to try it.
Was hoping for more insight, exploration, into the “photographer mindset” . A little but could have done more.

From IMDB:
The film is based on A.G. Sulzberger's 2010 New York Times article "For Kodachrome Fans, Road Ends at Photo Lab in Kansas" about a father and son who take a road trip to Kansas in order to develop photographs at Kodak's last Kodachrome lab before it closes its doors forever

The Saint (1997)- I love this movie, super performances by Val Kilmer and Elizabeth Shue. Some critic called his saint disguises “outlandish”. Obviously I disagree. 😳 I’m perplexed why this good story with a great atmosphere, complimented by outstanding atmospheric music was reviewed so poorly.

It was ahead of its time because it stuck to "The Saint" tv show storyline. Wished Mission Impossible stuck more to the storyline.

The first MI was the first, the best, and my favorite! After that it went off the rails. My favorite example is two human beings closing on each other, rapidly riding motorcycles from opposite directions, a combined speed of over 100mph. At the last minute they both jump, fly in mid air to collide with one another, fall to the ground and not only are they not dead, they hop up and start kung ku fighting with each other. This is when they are not spinning their cars around together as if the two cars are connected, bantering with each other. Note, the director was a Hong Kong Kung Fu action director if I recall correctly… 🤪

Always enjoyed Michael Caine in the role of Harry Palmer;
Standout being the Ipcress File, which is a near perfect period spy thriller. Couple of other notable's in the same genre, where Michael Caine portrays very similar character's.

I like this one, plus I had a crush on Elizabeth Shue in my younger years lol. Bit odd though seeing an American playing The Saint after Roger Moore did the TV series, but I never read the books so in idea what nationality the character was originally. Still worked out alright and Kilmer did a good job with the character.

Sadly, not enough story and too much action, with characters surprisingly and unexplainably suddenly being black belts in martial arts and fighting..

And Tom Hardy walks around in the film the EXACT same ways as he does in Venom lol. Oh and they NEVER reload their guns either despite shooting off 50 rounds sigh… Other action films do the whole double cross setting up a war thing better.

I have enjoyed all the films myself and shall miss them after this year. I believe it is Tom Cruise’s last one. My favourite was the one where he climbs the hotel in Dubai and they have to stop the launch for a nuclear missile, bar that part it was a bit more like the TV series I felt.

I am currently watching "I Hostage" which takes place in an Amsterdam Apple Store. I've only watched about half of it so far and I have found it to be quite disappointing. I'll watch the rest tonight. I'd really rather take a tour of Amsterdam - I was there many years ago and it was a delightful place to visit.

I was considering watching this, reviews were not good, but that’s not my final consideration.

I nevr knew this existed!
It's good, however I prefer the literal 1984 release...

George Orwell's literary masterpiece 1984 presented with amazing accuracy & detail. Filmed during the very months of the author's vision. Indeed very close to the source, remaining as relevant as ever. As per the norm, the book expands on world building and the characters inner thoughts...
