The Electric State (2025 Netflix)- This is alt-reality, but I did not like the premise for that reason, just the premise of these robots and of the story involving transference of consciousness. Did not finish. It got bad reviews and I hated most of the robots. ;) Budget $320M.

Yes, that is Chris Pratt and apparantly he likes playing the same character as Guardians…
Watched it this weekend, and I mostly enjoyed it. 6/10.

The only thing I really disliked was the ending. With a better ending it could have gotten a 7/10, and with a very good ending even an 8/10, but alas, especially when she killed her brother instead of trying to just get him out of the "coocoon" and that sappy video speech, and a few other utterly predicable things, just spoiled it (slightly) for me.

Not an unfair observation.

You did notice the little guy rebooting in the reflection at the end... right?
From Cosmo:
For reasons not totally explained, Cosmo gets tossed into a landfill. But he's not totally dead! He stands up in the movie's final, final moment! Does that mean Christopher, or at least some version of him, is still alive in there? They're just leaving the door open a teeny tiny crack in case we get The Electric State 2.

Yes, I noticed, but by then I was already a bit fed up.

Also I really, really hope they're not considering a sequel...I don't see any way that could work out...

Yeah now that I see "dark comedy" I tend to agree, gotta have dark sense of humor to enjoy it as a "dark comedy"...whatever it is labeled, I enjoyed it.
Same.

I even went as far as to call it macabre... which, maybe it isn't technically... but still kinda ..?

I really liked the ending.

Well we were the only 4 watching captain America brave new world last night, meh, sad to see the MCU at such lows.

I tried the cuddle seats, so uncomfortable seating in them body support wise. Obviously way too close looking up .

I missed that. Had to go back to see it.

Also interesting were the prescient comments at the end about a techno-oligarch getting his comeuppance.

6/10 is on the verge of disliking it. 😜

Wicked (2024)- Excellent story, musical watched on Peacock, turning upside down the original movie, I thought I was going to see a repeat of Starwars Episode 3, but not really. 🙂 My critique, talky talky songs and nothing iconic, say like Happy, Let It Go, Under the Sea or Kiss The Girl. Looking forward to Part 2.

Wedding Crashers (2005)- Great comedy, 2 guys who research and crash Wedding parties pretending to be distant members of the family, with the intent of picking up women. Great all star cast, Owen Wilson, Vince Vaughn, Christopher Walken, Rachel McAdams, Bradly Cooper, Isla Fisher, and Jane Seymour (Kitty Kat), “I’m not leaving this room until you feel my breasts.” Yes, R rated. Brady Cooper plays a great macho ****. ☺️

I worked in a movie theater back in the day. The films ran no matter what.
