I'm waiting until Adobe has more native apps (even though they work fine now) and will buy a new one when they're available. That's probably also around the time a new M1X or M2 is available.
Really? How cross platform will it be? Like Mac cross platform?I’m a bit Overwatch player, I hope they port it over but why not just get a PS5? OW2 is going to be cross platform anyway
That would be cool and I can see that’s it totally possible with the technology that they have now. Just whether or not they will it.in a perfect world a 15/16” iPad running macOS when docked (with full external monitor support) and iOS UI when undocked.
The one correct answer is of course: waiting for a new form factor, which will match the TDP (thermal design point) of the M-chips and set the look and feel of Macs for the next decade. What's your reason?
Sure, but that's not what I was sayingThe M1 aka A14X is not the performance chip, so it does not make sense to buy it if you are looking for performance.
I’m waiting for some of the software i need to catch up. For developer workflows there are still a few things that are not M1 native, and that means the usually fast M1 is being held up by a few odd pauses.
Interesting, are there any specifics? I see more and more things are becoming ready for M1, VS Code and Docker being the main ones that I would use.I’m waiting for some of the software i need to catch up. If the monitors work with thunderbolt you can also daisychain them. That's how I use two monitors on 1 port and the monitors also have multiple connections and can be used as hubs.I use my MacBook Pro as a desktop replacement, so I need support for three monitors and would like additional USB-C ports. The USB-C port limitation could be overcome with a hub, but I'd rather not have an extra piece of equipment cluttering my desk. That's it. The processing power certainly meets my needs.

That's a good point. However you should realise that not everyone upgrades their Macs each year or each 5 years.Uh... m1 is faster in a lot of stuff than an i9. It just happens to run in low power budget so...
Also this. This is another reason why I am waiting. The M1 aka A14X is not the performance chip, so it does not make sense to buy it if you are looking for performance. It is not what Apple designed it for.
They’re aiming for everything, Pc, PS4 and 5 and XboxReally? How cross platform will it be? Like Mac cross platform?

That's just one option. A lot of games play well on M1. Here's a topic that goes over a ton of games texted on M1.For people who game on the Mac, I think Microsoft their solution is probably what they should go for.
In my case, 32-bit software that will NEVER be upgraded to work in 64 bits or for the new m-series CPUs.
That's why I bought a 2018 Mini (Intel based) that came with Mojave, the last Mac OS to run 32 bits.
This Mini will NEVER be upgraded beyond Mojave as "its main OS".
Mojave is destined to become the "Windows XP" of the Mac world, for users who need to maintain compatibility with old software.
I probably will get an m-series MacBook Pro when the 14" version is released...
14 inch M1x notebookOther than financial reasons, what is preventing you from upgrading/migrating to M1 Macs?
For me its gaming, Overwatch to be specific. Currently, there is no workaround for this. I am hoping that they would port Overwatch 2 to Apple Silicon. Or if anyone know a workaround please, let me know. I really wanted to switch to Apple Silicon.
What's your reason?
Mojave is the best Mac OS so far imo. I’ll be keeping it on my Mac Pro 5,1 for the rest of eternity. In my case, 32-bit software that will NEVER be upgraded to work in 64 bits or for the new m-series CPUs.

I'm thinking of backing up to Mojave on my intel Mac Mini, can you stop it from nagging to update your OS?Mojave is the best Mac OS so far imo. I’ll be keeping it on my Mac Pro 5,1 for the rest of eternity.
