I rarely have problems on my Powerbook, and it's a year and a half old. I think it has actually improved since I added Tiger. Everything seems to work smoother and faster.
Programs that I usually use are Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat Professional and Word 2004. I also use MSN Messenger and Yahoo IM to talk to my friends, since most of them are Windows users.
Occasionally, I'll have small problems that are quickly resolved. All of my programs open up well and quickly, and they don't crash very often.
Things I'd like (it isn't apples fault) is to use google earth (my roommate keeps flaunting that), and use yahoo's launch music video service. Little things like that.
Programs that I use all the time for my business are on the Mac, so I don't end up feeling that I need the zillions of other junky programs out there for Windows. Don't get me wrong, because there are a lot of good Windows-based programs, but there's a lot of junky ones I've had to deal with in the past. And I'm glad that there's no spyware or adware in free or shareware programs for the Mac.
I'm really used to a Mac now and it feels weird when I hop onto a Windows machine -- I've been caught trying to use Expose on Windows, just to find out there is none. No spotlight either (I love spotlight).
I don't play with my Widgets as much anymore (gee, that sounds dirty), only when I need a calculator or want to know what the temperature is.
I NEVER use Automator. Don't get me wrong, it looks like a fine program, but I just never had the time or need to use it. Same with apple scripts.
I like Safari and Firefox -- a thousand times better than Internet Explorer. I don't know why people still use IE. Probably because it's just there... Doing both print and web design, I can say that IE is the bane of all web designers. It just doesn't work correctly or it doesn't support new technologies (ie rendering PNG transparency correctly).
I like Mac Mail better than Outlook -- much better! Thunderbird is a good mail client, too.
But I've got question for all of you:
Do the problems and limitations you experience on your Mac make you want to switch to Windows?
Also:
What is it about Windows that you've found annoying? Was it those Windows annoyances that made you switch to Mac, or was it something else?
