Any place but here or there....
After all my angst and grumbling over Apple’s price hikes and iPads, I realize I cannot give :apple: up no matter how hard I try. I just accepted that -for me- drawing on the iPad Pro is one of the most relaxing, fun and therapeutic things I have done in a long time.

So I am considering replacing my 2017 12.9 tonight.

I can go cheaper on my phone, but the Mac and iPad - Not really, no.

If that’s your thing, then that’s your thing. You seem good at it to, so go for it.
For me it’s the other way. My iPhone gets the most use, so needs to be the best of my Apple devices. I will be buying a new Mac mini, but it’s just a tool really for my photography hobby.
Then I use my iPad the least. In fact I’ve never bought myself one. I just buy my wife one and get her hand me down. She currently has the iPad Pro from last year, I have her old iPad Air.

So very true. Thank you.

My health is so important, and this is a tool that helps me remain calm when the big issues arise. Drawing is a great way to start and end the day. Plus, I use it for school too.

I use my iMac the most, but my 2013 iMac should be fine for school until at least next summer.

I sure understand about the heavy phone use too.

I look forward to hearing about your experiences with the new Mini, especially as a photographer.

Whatever tools work best are worth the expense.

Apple products are expensive, but that is secondary to me. The value Apple provide me with, is what matters.

If it doesn’t provide you with value, then it often is too expensive to people.
If the value lies in the iPhone, iPad, iMac, Mac, whatever additions etc, it lies in whatever matters to people.
I never feel that it is too expensive when I buy what matters to me.
But putting money into an Apple product (or any other product either) that don’t matter to me, I just wouldn’t do it. Money spent on things we love, is just money well spent :)

I think the obvious price gouging and spec/accessory gimping annoys me more than anything else. I get over both because Apple are not the only guilty party and because I come to realizations that flapping my wings about it is just dumb.

But you hit that nail right on the head with your last sentence.:)

I hope you enjoy your Golden Air and get it sooner than you expect.

@Gutwrench @SandboxGeneral and all veterans here, thank you very much for serving our country.
Thanks.

Apropos of nothing, I am actually working on my book about my time in the US Marines right now. It's been slow going, like 4 years in the making, but at least I'm doing something on it right now.

In fact, it's coming along nicely at the moment with the new MacBook Air. Typing on this machine and the new keyboard is actually quite pleasurable for me.

I'm working on a section about the time I broke the cardinal rule and I volunteered for a special duty when I was still very young in my enlistment. The special duty turned out to be pretty cool. SPIE rigging. Special Patrol Insertion/Extraction. Basically, you put a harness on and clip onto a long rope with a d-ring and then a helicopter lifts off and you along with it dangling from the rope. The intent is a quick response either in drop off or pick up in areas where a helicopter cannot land.

Good inspiration with your book.

Glad to hear how pleasurable it is to write on.
That is my expectation.
Have some amazing stories myself in me.
