The Blue Jays here are noisy as heck too. I’m seeing colorful cardinals at the feeder. Gorgeous!
:) Oh, they are gorgeous.

I like hearing Blue Jays squawk and be noisy; so much better than demon dog next door. We haven’t seen too many cardinals lately, at our previous residence lots of cardinals, very few blue jays, now it has flipped. Beyond the Jays and starlings, we also get massive crows. I am glad the crows went somewhere else. I was getting Hitchcock vibes from the crows, they were so big.

The pigeon posse made me laugh out loud. They made people walk around them. I thought “Yep, they’re New Yorkers alright.”

@Lioness~ enjoy your golden tech baby.

They look like volcanos; they emit water. I wonder if a certain conspiratorial forum member had a hand in this.

Yes, they do resemble tiny volcanos. I’ve put FEMA on alert!

It’s not a baby, but thanks anyway. It reminded me to pick a name for her ;)

Nice, I have to find one of these. So much better then the manual Oil-diffuser I have.

Finally got around to building an OpenVPN server to host a Pi-Hole today so I can use it while away from my home or work networks.

I have to travel to a meeting tomorrow for work and it will be a good test of the VPN. Though I tested it already from the MBA, iPhone and iPad and it works, I'm curious to see how it performs without the backup of my own network. I don't expect any problems, really.

But I advocate for Pi-Hole a lot and I really hate being without it when on the go.

For $6 per month I set up a Debian server on Digital Ocean and installed OpenVPN and Pi-Hole just for this purpose. Now I'm covered by Pi-Hole at home, at work and on the go.

I went back and upgraded all the SSDs in my parts lists to models with more endurance.

I picked up a random diffuser off Amazon a few years ago. I spent about $15. More expensive ones are made with ceramic. Anyway, usually run it with a citrus oil or mint after cooking aromatic dishes and it cleans the air fairly fast.

The uncertainty of life and trying to find purpose.
Keep searching, finding your own specific purpose, may remove many uncertainties.
I found out how my own purpose and the gift of my life and soul are very interlaced, very early, thankfully.

I rejigged the "$4200" systems storage again.

Replaced 1TB NVMe M.2, 2TB SATA SSD, 5TB hard drive with:

2TB NVMe M.2, 6TB hard drive.

Because this 2TB M.2 has much greater endurance, and it is faster than SATA, and the system is simpler to manage (and BTW it is cheaper).

Received my shiny new iPad Pro yesterday, started to set it up, and had the unpleasant realization that I had overlooked ordering a USB-C to USB-A cord needed to connect it to my 2010 iMac. I have a connector, but the USB end is of the wrong gender.

This is a critical item, as I have satellite internet access, with limited data, and therefore had planned to set up my new iPad with a backup restored from iTunes, rather than from iCloud.

Thanks to Amazon, I’ll have one Wednesday. In the meantime, the IPP remains in its box.

What was I thinking?

Not much, evidently.

It happens o_O
Enjoy your iPad tomorrow, hope they deliver.

I ordered cords and USB-C hub, but haven’t received them yet. So MBA will come before it. Hadn’t expected that. See how far I get with the USB-C-lightning cord I ordered from Apple with the MBA ;)

Will get accustomed with the MBA on its own, very very soon.
Will migrate what I need manually which isn’t synced later.

I’m a bit surprised by this, but I love my new iPhone XR, more so than the 6 I just traded in. :D
Getting rid of the home button in combination with face recognition significantly improves the phone experience

I can't wait until the S10 myself. It's supposed to be amazing.
New S-10? I loved my1998 S-10 with the off road package,although it’s gas Milage
was as bad as a full size truck.

I do still miss the Home button a little. But only because I was so used to it.
