@Scepticalscribe hope mom improves. We’re impacted by damp weather too (not just joints, but mood).
Thinking about how I’d rather be sleeping. At least it is Wednesday though, and I was able to prep another two med insurance claims to complete after helping mom when I get home tonight. It will take a few days to get through all the claims and submit them as surprise bills but it is worth it since insurance pays those.
Thanks for your kind words.
Actually, she seems fine, though doubtless looking forward to snuggling up under the duvet when she is returned to her bed shortly.
(That requires a hoist and two people; she is not remotely mobile, and hasn't been for almost three years. Her room has an astonishing array of high end equipment - courtesy of the state; a proper hospital bed, - suitably disguised with wooden headboards and footboards - that can be raised or lowered electronically, in whole or in part, that comes complete with a control panel that would not be out of place on the Starship Enterprise; an elaborate and sophisticated air mattress, also electronically operated; and the hoist, which, likewise, is a serious piece of heavy metal equipment, electronically operated).
Anyway, I looked in on her while the carer was giving her lunch (pears, waffles, excellent Canadian maple syrup), and she burst out laughing, continuing to laugh helplessly.
So, she is fine, and actually in good form.
She always hated winter, and always suffered from "sad" - as do I. So, while I am not surprised that she is more lethargic and dopey in winter, I am also mindful of the direction of the trajectory she is on.
