Any place but here or there....
No iPad Pro or Surface Pro 6 now. Disliked the Surface Pen, and was completely lost attempting to use the Surface.

Tonight: will look in earnest for pencil that was paired with 2018 iPad, and will have to adjust to drawing traditionally (first world problem), or pick up a Wacom tablet to use with my iMac.

I try to detach from Apple and no dice. Though iOS is ticking me off so bad.

Now must earn my pay because library must be eradicated of books by closing time tomorrow.

We put up the tree today and I marveled, as always at our collection of Teasel People purchased at a Christmas Store in Thomas, West Virginia 35 years ago. Each of characters represents a family member. Believe it or not, I am the artist, front row left. :) Others- knitter, train engineer, nurse, witch (kitchen witch), and cowboy. The heads are made using a teasel plant seed, a weed that is often found along the road in West, Va as well as many other places. The body is just puffy ball of something wrapped in cloth.

The sad part of the story was the lady who made them killed herself and the store closed. Anyway these are true little slices of Americana (I think if they are an original idea) and I wish I could find a museum that would take them for safe keeping.

Those "Teasel People" are truly delightful and definitely unusual! Wonderful family heirlooms to cherish for now and later to indeed donate to a museum....

Adorable. Reminds me of the mouse house (- a doll house with little mice dressed up as the characters -) we had when I was very young.

That’s cool that they each depicted a family member. Hope you can find a good home for them.

I love the fake bird ornaments and plant decorations mom bought from a florist eons ago. The birds look very realistic and pretty. Whenever I have my own space I think I will decorate with those birds and fake plants because I eat plants, I do not grow them.

The biggest thing on my mind besides mom is being determined to find my older Apple Pencil so I can share the 2018 iPad with her until they go back on sale again and I can get my own. I was actually creating better art on the 2018 iPad than this annoyingly wonky Pro I had to return today.

Thanks. :) I figure if they don’t end up in a museum, my immediate decendents will not treat them properly, put them in a garage sale, give to Good Will or even trash them. :(

From mid 70’s to snow. Not pleasant.
From relative sunshine and warmth to a lead into a coldsnap plus torrential rain. Thankfully it ends in a few hours according to the radar imagery I looked at. Should give ground time to soak and absorb before the next hit of rain.

That’s better than snow.

It was beautiful weather, as usual. Hit 80 a couple times otherwise mid 70s. No rain.

This was a day before returning.

I mentioned this before in another thread, that the MacRumors or is it my iPad spellchecker(?) is weak. There are times when it has no clue what the word is I am trying to type, while I can mangle a word pretty good and the online search engine identify it correctly without a fuss most of the time.

I used to be a horrible speller, then it clicked in junior high and spelling was fun! I was a strong speller for decades.

Fast forward to now and I’ve become lazy and no longer have that mental picture of the correctly spelled word in my head I once had...and my phonetic memories are fading. I blame some of it on spellcheck and autocorrect...but the truth is I think my brain has been fading.

With auto correct, my spelling is worse. My attention span is for fleas too.

I have the mental image of the correctly spelled word; sometimes, though, autocorrect is adamantly convinced that it knows what I want to write even though I had written something else.

And, while my spelling is still pretty good, what I have noticed is that my typing (in terms of accuracy) has deteriorated or disimproved somewhat during the past year.

Team that message auto corrects can be funny. Google some. Not suitable for work though!

I’m a pretty good proof reader though. I have to be!
I did have a young girl who worked for me texting me one Saturday night. It was obvious (after the first few texts) that she had picked the wrong AFB in her contacts!

Fortunately it wasn’t too embarrassing for her! Could have been much worse!

English is embarrassing enough sometimes, but for someone learning it...my heart goes out.

She was a hoot! I’ve told this story before but it still cracks me up.

We were trading messages while she was away on a business trip. She wrote she had lunch with a few colleagues, so naturally I asked what she ordered.

She replied, “I had the grilled semen and it was delicious.”

I wrote back, “you had the WHAT?!”

In case it wasn’t obvious, she was trying to say ‘salmon’.
