A little unamused with myself in that after 4 years, according to the app IA Writer, this is all I have done on the first draft to my second book. At least, though, I am working on it again.

Another cup of coffee, and reading the Sunday papers.
It must be Italian.
I never "got" the reasoning behind all glass doors or large windows that weren't curtained off. I think I'll put up our lights soon.

One of our neighbors wraps their lights around a thin wooden pole and hangs the lights from hooks affixed to their home's exterior. Wrapped and taped. Literally takes them less than half an hour to put lights all around the front of the house.
Because I love the sun.

Lol. I don’t decorate, but I don’t have kids any more.
Yeah, I don't get that, especially in a desert area. I've seen other strange (to me) home layouts.
I'm all about efficiency. High tinting, automatic shade extenders, solar panels, gas tankless heater, etc. Though I was referring to evenings and not daytime.Especially the desert???
I’ve always loved windows and sunlight and don’t see the reason to cover them with curtains or blinds. Except for the bedrooms no room has curtains there.
The Minnesota house was pretty much the same way.
Tee.
I don’t decorate either. And I don’t miss the mess!Because I love the sun.

Quit being such a drama queen; I'll bring down another meal sometime tomorrow or the next day. Just be glad you have internet privileges.I doubt I’ll make it through the weekend.![]()
Mother is on my mind at the moment.
So difficult for anyone to go through this with a parent. I hope you can take advantage of respite care when it's available (although I suppose that is disruptive in its own ways). Holding a good thought for you all including the carer who seems to have been working out well; it has sounded like she has wonderful recipes on tap from what you've shared on the boards here. Could your mother connect to Christmas decorations in a mood-helpful way or does that seem risky?
That’s nice. But why no decorations elsewhere?Actually, strange that you should mention this, but there are Christmas lights around her bedroom window, (the only room in the house thus decorated so far) and she seems to like them.
This was entirely the idea and brainchild of the carer to cheer Mother up.
